Saw in the gel tests that Liberty Ammunition makes a light weight fragmenting ammo for personal defense. The vid of the 10mm 60gr bullet on gel is incredible. It almost blows the gel block in pieces. Hitting center of mass would surely provide a super quick kill. But, I have a question. Are they still in business? I found where there was supposed to be an auction due to bankruptcy. If they are gone, I'll be buying more than just a one box trial.

Well it was an expensive round to use, what people fail to understand is that even plain lead bullets work effectively, body armor aside!

The idea for me is to try them, if I can still buy them in the future, is no pass thru. Seems the hogs on the ranch have learned that if they run into the cattle, they're safe. You can almost drive up to one in the herd. A bullet that would penetrate no more than 12-16" would be ideal and yes, I can load down ammo that will do just that but it has little to no terminal performance and the hog runs off and dies maybe several days later. I want him dead in seconds, not hours. The 10mm, if it performs something near the vid, would be worth the money just to break the habit. I understand that the ammo is not cheap. But a bunch of hogs can cause thousands of dollars in damage to a field in one night. Makes the ammo cheap by comparison. So does anybody know for sure that they are still in business or did they go into bankruptcy?

Found a local gunshop that is closing it out. They only had the 10mm which is what I really wanted. Bought 2 boxes for the price of one retail. The gunshop won't be carrying it anymore. They didn't elaborate or the guys didn't know why. Anyway, the 2 boxes will tell me if it's going to work like I'm looking for. Looks like it'll be late January before I'll get a chance to give it run though. If I don't like it I can always break it down and reload the bullets to something that will work. That should be an interesting project now that I think of it. Imagine loading 10mm with Bullseye.....who'd a thunk it.

It's definitely an interesting round. My main concern would be penetration but the base does seem to penetrate 12-14in in the clear gel.

The main issue to me is is that shallow wound worth having a deep wound of .4 worth not having a deep wound from a bullet that expanded to .65 or .85?
