Interesting. I would have expected more from the Remington Long Slide than what you got. Especially when you compare guns 6-5-and 3. The 7" barrel made a much better showing. I'm assuming a 180gr bullet. So are you of the opinion, looking at the results, that maybe Longshot might be a little too slow for the 10mm/load combination? Possibly Blue Dot a better choice or maybe even CFE? Or do you just charge this off as differences in resistance to bullet drag going down the barrel?

I am not sure other than 20 years of reloading has taught me every gun is specific unto itself.

I think chamber deminsions have a great influence on velocities.

The KKM is a really tight chamber. The Encore is as well but the pressure rise is pretty fast with Longshot so it petered out so to speak in the 18" bbl. Kriss has a generous chamber and 16" bbl.

If Longshot was really slow then we would see a higher velocity in the rifle barrels.

I actually load for the best combination and of course use what I have on hand. I have some AA#7 will tray that today to see what the comparisons are.

Update with 10.7 grains of AA#7

Kriss carbine 16" barrel 1289 FPS

Model 40 Glock KKM 7" Barrel 1220 FPS

Model 20 Glock 1067 FPS

Remington LS 1911 R1 1144FPS

Encore rifle 18" Barrel 1211 FPS

RIA commander length 1911 1051 FPS

These loads although slow were very accurate.

Ramjet, I am probably staring right at it, but what bullet were you using? Have a 7-inch KKM coming soon.

Pretty interesting results. Have you tried AA#9? That's a slow powder that would take advantage of the longer barrels. Also, I've seen guys experiment with Win 296 powder although AA#9 seems to be king for 10mm.

Guys I apologize the bullet is 180 Grain HP from Montana Gold bullet company.
