Thought today would be a great day for shooting some loads I had worked up. It was supposed to be in the low 80's and clear. I had to wait until almost 10AM to leave the house as the fog was so thick. The range is 75 miles away so I just enjoyed the ride. Got to the range and it had all cleared off. I set about my usual getting set up. Our gun club has benchs for shooting pistols at 25 yds. So I decided that it was time to try the light bullets bullets first. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Here's a pic of 135gr Rainier 135 HPs using Unique powder at 1100'ps. No barn burner for sure but I wouldn't want to get hit with it. Besides, this will be a plinker load at best........a darn good plinker load. From bags at 25 yds, a nice cloverleaf. The gun, a Remington R1 Long Slide.

That's amazing.   My Springfield TRP shoots hand-sized spray patterns at seven yards.

Gotta Colt Python that I sent back to Colt for a trigger job, 1.5lbs, and accurizing. It will shoot groups like this if you can. I also have a Kimber Grand Raptor that when I got it you couldn't hit your truck with it at 50 yds. After numerous trips back to Kimber for apparent fresh air, I had my smitty work it over. It also shoots groups like this. The AMT 30 auto mag III 30 carbine is another one that is rifle accurate if you're able to shoot it. All from bags. Offhand, the Kimber and the Python I've shot under 1" groups at 25 yds with both in competition. I practice shooting offhand 3/4" bolt heads in steel boiler plate at 25 yds. Wish I could say "Ain't I good" but my little brother cleans my clock regularly. The boy (he's 75 yrs old) is just a natural. But he keeps me challenged.
