Just got my match pro ultra yesterday and so far love it. Hope to get some custom grips made for it.

Are any of you carrying this 10mm MS as an EDC. If so, how is it working out? pros/cons?

Thanks!

I bought mine to carry, but with the HUGE magwell on the HC models, and the fact they have chopped up the frame so you can't really remove it I haven't yet.

I have started to blend the magwell down to the size of the grips.  Once I finish that and confirm that my extractor mods have fixed my feeding issues, then it will get a stamp on it's dance card.

I have the 6 inch pro model.  I like it for a range gun.  Fully loaded it's heavy, and I knew that when I bought it.  I just didn't let that knowledge sink in.

I mean, I just wanted to buy it.  You know exactly what I mean.

It was supposed to be my hog hand gun.  I can carry a single stack 10mm and carry an extra scar 17 magazine.  That makes more sense.

I'm looking at the Sig 220 next, but I have to sell this one first.

Have the FS and FS HC. On the FS, Wilson Combat 9 round mags work well.  On the FS HS, last outing  found the back sites ready to fall off! Easy to re-secure, BUT not a good thing. Will be watching them close!

I prefer my Sig. P220 to the RIA's, but then I like DA/SA guns. BUT in a 'situation', the RIA FS HC with 16 rounds will be what I want!

the pin in my rear sight on my FS HC was trying to walk out this past week end ---noticed it hanging out to the left after about 50 rounds or so

I'm not really digging my fs hc so far. It has some feeding issues and the trigger seems heavy for a 1911. I'm about 300 rounds in. Will fire some more and send it in for warranty if it still locks the slide back all the time. Once that's fixed I may have my gun smith work on the trigger.

Feeding issues are most likely too tight of an extractor, seems to be a common problem with rock's...i adjusted mine and it feeds great now.

Got a RIA 10MM 6", 16+1 and had a few nagging issues out of the box.  Sent it back to Armscor and they sent me a new gun.  The warranty response from Armscor was amazing.  No questions, no hassle.  This one runs like a Swiss watch and the recoil is nothing to write home about.  I was actually expecting something more bone rattling but then it weighs in a tad under 4 lbs fully armed.   The only down side is any hope of trying to CC this thing (but haven't given up just yet. :) )  No regrets...

I finally got a chance to make it to the range again with my rock island.  It ran a little over a hundred rounds of sig sauer 180 gr fmj without missing a beat.  :D

Good to hear!

I see Sig made a 1911 (Spartan) in 10mm. Now if they will only make one in the "carry" size (Commander).
