Who uses Longshot powder in their 10 loads?

just as the title says.  what is your experience with it?  I had a long talk from another centemeter fan that is using long shot for .45, 10mm and .40 who says it works great and burns clean

I use lots of powders and LongShot is one of them...It works very well, meters well, an yields plenty energy to provide high velocity and many are loading beyond the factory data to obtain their results.  Just like any other powder you need to work up and test what works in your own guns as it is setup!

I load my 10mm & 9x25Dillon using LS with great results...

SwampFox Ammo was loaded using the LS where as Underwood is loaded using 800X...Both very potent loadings!

I no longer use anything else in the Ten, though I might try some BlueDot just for giggles.  But I don't think there's a better powder for the 10mm than Longshot, or Power Pistol in the 40.

  Longshot is great for high energy/velocity loads in my 10MMs.

Hodgdon Max for 180gr is 9.5gr.   When working up with 180gr XTP I found 9.2gr to be my max.  Going above 9.2gr my velocities did not increase of in the case of 9.5gr decreased, so I stopped at 9.2gr for 1250fps out of my 4.25 inch CBOB.  Accuracy is excellent.

I've witnessed similar results in 10mm Auto where adding more Longshot not only stopped producing more velocity but where going even further lowered velocity.  The weird thing is that it seemed like pressure still continued to rise by how flattened the primers were.  It was the 200 XTP bullet that I was toying with.

I have seen the same thing with Blue Dot too.  However, I have seen pressure signs with over book loads of Longshot, but haven't with Blue Dot.  And I went a lot further over book with Blue Dot.

That said, Longshot will deliver velocities I haven't achieved with Blue Dot. Both are great powders for 10mm.
