QuoteThe Xtreme Defender is based on the popular Xtreme Penetrator product line. The XD ammunition has an optimized nose flute, total weight, and velocity to achieve a penetration depth up to 18 inches* with a permanent wound cavity (PWC) that is just simply enormous; no other expanding hollow point comes close to achieving anywhere near this diameter and volume. Not only is the PWC over 100% larger than any other expanding bullet, expansion is achieved despite being shot through barriers. The solid copper body ensures that wallboard, sheet metal, and automotive glass will have no effect on the Permanent Wound Channel.
*Falling within FBI guidelines
This round offers:
•   A permanent wound cavity (PWC)that is 2 times greater than any expanding bullet
•   Reduced recoil.
•   CNC machined from solid copper to overcome barriers to penetration
•   Radial flutes that force the hydraulic energy inward to build pressure
•   Minimal surface area to increase the force at the point of contact and sharp cutting edges that defeat barriers
As with all of Underwood Ammo™ rounds, we utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.
While taking advantage of our state of the art testing equipment, this high performance ammunition is field tested using popular, real firearms that our customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience. If for some reason Underwood Ammunition fails to meet performance expectations, we stand by our product 100% and will make sure the customer is satisfied with every purchase.
This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

No.  Don't know what dies you have coming for the 9x25's, I use the Dillon dies.  But that set only has the sizer die / seater die with reversible flat nose / round nose plug / taper crimp die.  If you are using a progressive press you would use the powder through the expander die to condition the neck and flare to accept the bullets.  I use the RCBS 9mm neck expander for this step and it has worked well to uniform & maintain proper neck to bullet tension.  I work on single stage and hand weigh all powder charges to insure Match Grade consistency.

When you get you dies be sure not to over size the cases, by that I mean don't set the shoulder back too far.  When you drop the casing into the chamber you will want the casing head as close flush with the hood of the barrel.  Flush is 0.000" and no more than 0.002" below the barrel hood.  Having too much headspace can cause the cases to split or crack the neck area.

You could pass-through size the cases as part of the resizing, that would insure that they are ironed out down at the lowest part of the casings.  I do my pass-through using the LEE 10mm/40 FCD (factory crimp die) with the guts removed and a (bullet sizing pin) to push the cases up and through the carbide ring.  I use this setup to do all 10mm / 40S&W / 357Sig / 9x25 cases.

If you run into issues I'll try to talk you through it! ;D

That makes sense. I'm back in the world of benchrest rifle again. I'll be ordering ch4d dies soon. I've got the Lee powder thru expander on its way. With the ch die set I get a carbide sizer(not sure if it's dual) seating and taper crimp for about 120

The Dillon 9x25 Dies have dual carbide sections to size and or form the brass casing even without lube.  Not sure about the ch4d.
When I started I searched for used set of dies when someone was getting out of loading the 9x25's and good a great deal.  Lucky! :D

Yeah...Those dillon dies were painful to purchase for a guy like me that is pretty budget conscious.

I called ch to order, and apparently they're ZERO carbide... That was OK. But I usually order a sizing die, seating die, and crimp die, their sets normally have an expander, but not the crimp. But, alas, they didn't have any crimp dies. So that was one too many strikes, but the set, with a crimp die, was only about 30 bucks cheaper than Dillon. So after that, I called Dillon. Should be getting my set tomorrow, sent the barrel out to van Schneider in Ohio to ream the barrel and fit/time the comp.

Van did me right with the final reaming of my 9x25 barrel for the 1006.
The reason I like the RCBS 9mm expander (not powder through the expander) over ones like the Lee is the expander plug is longer which tends to make the necks straighter because it protrudes deeper inside the neck section and it is a solid non moving plug unlike the floating Lee expanders...
