I recently got a glock 20 gen 3 not to long ago, an I love it! I starting reloading brand new Starline brass, with some Bluedot. I've read on forums to use the bulge buster from LEE to get bulges out of brass if you have any. On my reloaded ammo I haven't seen any glock smilies like I have seen on google searches I have done. I use a Lonewolf Stock length barrel when i shoot brand new brass reloads, I have 1x fired brass from my reloading an used the lee bulge buster just for reassurance but didn't really look like I need to. Sorry for the long talk but heres my question, I re-sized all the 1x fired brass loaded them up with 180gr Berry plated bullets with some Bluedot, not very powerful loading just plinking rounds for the range, figure not to push the 1x fired brass. After looking at the brass it seems its slightly bulge near the bottom? Was wondering if im just looking into it to much, an worrying about nothing. Down by the case head. heres a picture of my concerns? Gun im using is a Glock 20 stock w/ LoneWolf stock length barrel.

If you have a good caliper and measure the spot and find it to be 0.4230" or less you may be OK, cartridge case gauge is nice to check with or you could take your Lonewolf Stock length barrel and drop the rounds in to see if the fit all the way without resistance to be flush with the barrel hood!

Looking at the shiny spot where the taper crimp was applied also looks good.  ;)

To me, they look  fine and I load mid range BD and the Xtreme plated fn.

I don't run my mid load target rounds thru a full length resizer, they just don't need it on the two presses I use  ( and that's in a stock barrel ).

What is important as Shadow states is that they pass the drop test in a max/min gauge ( if used in more than one gun ) or the barrel itself if that's all your shooting out of.
Every now and then, one will fail the drop test and I just throw they aside for a later inspection as to why, only in the stock barrel have the hot loads required full resizing. ( and that close to 2% of the rounds I fire.)

Thanks for your replies, I tested my rounds an they all drop in an out of my Lonewolf barrel just fine. I check with my calipers an and they read between 0.423-0.425. The BD load im using is 9.6grs with a COL of 1.255 CCI LP. Thanks again  :)

I run just a bit more than you... 10.2 or 10.4 of BD with the xtreme 180 plated at 1.250. They don't get full resized and still pass the drop gauge.

If I remember right the max book value is 11gr BD for 180.

If they fit your barrel(s) then you are good to go, unless you plan on sharing with someone else.

Case gauges are nice to have, but if you are only reloading for you, your gun will tell you all you need to know 99% of the time.

You're exactly right. My barrels have seen a lot of use that way.

Having a gage is a bit of a luxury to have on the bench so as to not need to field strip a gun. For about $15 from Dillon, I like to have them around for the cartridges that I load. Way too convenient in the long run for not a lot of moolah.

Regarding the OP, the bulge doesn't look so much like a bulge to me but the normal slight bottleneck that is caused by the re-sizer sizing down a bit smaller diameter above the web. The thicker web area is not getting sized, and the bullet is re-expanding the case somewhat. Hence a bit of bottleneck. If it gages, it is not bulged.

I just got back from the range I have a kimber custom tle 10mm 26# main spring 20# recoil spring. I absolutely love 800x. I had been feeding it a steady diet of power pistol and blue dot. About a month ago I started testing with 800x. I started at 9.4 grains now I settled on 10 grains of 800x under A 180 grain xtp at 1.252 OAL new starline brass with Winchester large pistol primer. This load produced 1386 low and 1414 high with no pressure signs whatsoever.
