...it isn't a "40,000psi range" load.  It is a maximum pressure load, and perhaps very slightly over, dependent upon climate conditions, but not overpressure.

Who measured it, and with what equipment?

Well, that's disappointing.  You'd think Hollywood, at least, would paint this up better than that.  It worked for Dirty Harry (still does, actually).  I haven't read the book(s), but just might now.  You have my attention..... (no spoilers, please...)
