So, after some more testing with different loads in my Gen 2 Glock 20 with no relief to the hand pains, I've defected to the .357 Sig in a OD Gen 3 Glock 32 ......  :P

But ...... I will still frequent the forum because my son took custody of the G20.   He shot a CCW Pistol Course with it on the 6th, shooting about 100 rounds of AE 180 FMJ.  He had shot about 250 round of AE and Corbon prior to the course.  He has fell head over heels for the 10mm.

Yesterday, he came to the cabin and learned to cast & reload for his new toy.   Cast some LEE 175 TC's and loaded 50 with 13.0 Grains of AA#9, also tried 50 180 Grain Plated Berry FP's with 12.0 Grains of 2400.   He is happy with the function & accuracy of both loads.  He thinks the 2400 load is louder, I couldn't tell ....... ;D

Mtnfolk75, at least you were able to keep it in the family and you might get to test yourself with it on occasions...
The 357Sig round is a neat cartridge, loading for it isn't too bad, but I will say LEE dies are steel(not carbide) and I found the Dillion die set for 357Sig and 9x25Dillon to be the best option although more expensive.  Why are they expensive?  The sizing dies, have carbide sizing sections, for the case body and the neck section.

I would hope that this was with good hearing protection!  Deafness is painless most of the time. :o  That ringing in your head that you hear called tinnitus is part of hearing loss.

Best regards,  :D

Shadow,

I now always wear hearing protection, I spent to many years around dirt bikes, gunfire & sirens ..... ;D    I really am beginning to think it has more to do with the way the Gen 2 fits my hand than the 10mm, the .357 Sig in a Gen 3 is painless.  After my hand injury and subsequent surgeries I was unable to comfortably shoot my issued Gen 2 23 that I had no problems with over about 5-6k rounds over the previous 6 years. That is what forced my 3 year early retirement.

I made a short lived run at privately owned .40 S&W in 2012,the G22 & G27's that I had were painless in the Gen 3's .  But, SWMBO didn't like the snappiness in her G27 and wanted to return to her Gen 2 19 ( which I can't shoot very well now, even though it was my privately owned duty gun for 4 years prior to the SO transitioning to the 40 S&W and I was able to shoot it really well ).   To appease her the .40 S&W's went away and were replaced with a pair of Gen 3 Glock 26's, she kept the Gen 2 G19 as her nightstand Roscoe ...... :-\

Sirens (Old Q2 types and electronic sirens), the roaring fire apparatus engines, other machinery and yes gunfire, have all taken their toll on my hearings over the many years.  I have become tone deaf, in the upper frequency ranges.  So I know all too well and is why I mention the warnings just as a safety warning...

I did go to Miracle Ear once and they were checking my ear's range of response, what I heard back then was,
Quote"these hearing aids would cost $2200 apiece"
:o, I got up and left.  I met my wife over at the Vision Care place and she asked "have you had your eyes checked?"  I said,
Quote"I can see you wrote that check $478, I guess they are OK!"

I hear ya Shadow,  I have horrendess Tinnitus ..... :(  When I was initially injured they thought maybe I had suffered a mild stroke.  After multiple MRI's & Nerve Conduction Test they decided that my wrists were both just plain worn out.   I was 45 at the time and asked the Sawbones what would have caused that, he replied " Too much Driv'n, Fight'n, Shoot'n & Writ'n .... ).   I was afraid to ask him about Hearing Loss, Stress & Ulcers ...... ;D

After 3 surgeries in 11 months they concluded that I was unrepairable, so 2 years & 22 days after the injury they forced me to retire.  I loved my job, I never worked Detectives or Dope because I was a Hairy Legged Ole' Beat Cop at heart.   Took me about 5 years to get over the fact that I got Kicked Out'a the Car .......  :o
