2 new guns this weekend...no 10mm though but saw 2 BrenTens

Went to a local gun show this weekend. A guy there had 2, yes 2 BrenTen Special Forces Models. Luckily my buddy was there to prevent me from buying them at 2200.00 a pop. But I've never seen 2 in person at one time (especially not the "compact" SF Model). One was all silver and the other all black. They were very nice.

So while I was there I bought a couple of guns.

First a Remington R51. Some people will set they are crap but it is not so easy to qualify it as it is an entirely different style of gun. The slide is admittedly weird feeling. Almost like it is grinding metal on meta but it isn't as I have cleaned it a couple of times and there are no metal shavings. As I am working it in it is getting better though. I think things just need to settle a bit. I look forward to trying it. Unique design, all metal (yes even the lower part is aluminum). Will post results once I take it to the range. It is a PIA to field strip but once you get used to it, it isn't really that bad.

The other one a Taurus PT1911 45ACP. It is a really good value. It is very smooth, very well put together and comes standard with a lot of stud I would have put on it anyway. I have a Wilson Mag well on order and bout some Wilson Magazines. I'm surprised how glassy smooth everything including the trigger and slide action are. I'll post a report when I hit the range with it.

I have a Taurus 1911 45 Auto, runs everything well and shoots very good.I cast my own bullets and I shoot mostly 200gr SWC at 920 fps or 230gr cast RN at 820 fps out of the Taurus.
