Here is a new acquisition of mine.

It is a Wildey pistol with a 12" barrel and chambered in the 475 Wildey Magnum cartridge.  That is a Colt Delta Gold Cup along side for reference.

Very Nice pistols! 8)  That's was a beast at the time and is still quite the mule! 
Back when I was much younger I passed on a deal for 2 consecutive numbered 44 Automags in the box...money back then like now is still tight! ::)

I collect Auto Mags and the price for the standard pistols has really stayed pretty much with the rate of inflation through the years.  But i have to say, they are my favorite.  They are a much better gun in my opinion than the Wildey.

Hollywood seemed to like the Wildey pistol too, and Bronson used it to dispatch the 'creeps' in Death Wish III.

Eastwood's character:  Callahan used the Sanford AutoMag in .44AMP, of course.  It turned-out to be a 'buzzkill' for the rape-artists at the amusement park.

I have been told that the Wildey used in Death Wish 3 was Bronson's personal firearm.

There were two special Auto Mags made at the time of the Dirty Harry, Sudden Impact movie, CLINT 1 and CLINT 2.  They had special 8.5" barrels on them.  One was set up to fire blanks for the movie and the other was given to Eastwood personally. Harry Sanford"s son Walter sold the movie gun to a collector for a reported $60,000.  Supposedly Eastwood still retains the "CLINT" pistol given to him.

I have had mine out to the range the past two Fridays shooting it.  Took me awhile to find some brass.
Once I found the proper gas setting it works fine.  It only took two shots to get the gas set close.  My biggest gripe is that it kicks the brass into my face and I have not been able to adjust the gas to change that.

I shoot auto mags, and they are a lot nicer pistol in my opinion.

Automag better that is an interesting observation... I wonder if the later days of Wildey had some issues because the end was near?
