I mentioned in an earlier post that for 10mm the 1006 was the only gun for me...

But after visiting my favorite shop today. I held a Kimber Eclipse and I was very impressed...

What do you recommend? Should I but a used 1006? Or a brand new Kimber?

I hear the S7W is pretty strong and it can handle anything put through it. Is the Kimber that reliable, too?

Don't stop at one! None of us do  :o

I don't have a Kimber but do have a Dan Wesson! I have a 1006 too  :-\

Nothing except a long-slide will eat up recoil like the 1006. Probably nothing will run any kind of ammo without a single incident like it either. My 1911 DW is probably the most accurate of any I own though and capacity on the two will be equal. Do you need or want a double action/single action? The trigger on the 1006 pales in comparison to the 1911 trigger and the double action is long too. Running hot stuff both have great support but parts going forward will be easier for the Kimber. Confused yet?

The action doesn't matter. Got a Beretta M9 and a Browning Hi-Power and love them both. I love the look of the Kimber but was concerned about the toughness. I guess I should stop worrying and go with a pistol that's at least still being manufactured. The Kimber will be brand new. Just about any 1006 I buy will be used with an unknown history.

I have a couple of Witness guns too. You could do a Witness and a 1006 for the price of a Kimber  ;D

Couldn't take the heat... Had to buy the Kimber... $1184 out the door.

Doesn't seem too bad in these times. I paid about $50 less for my Dan Wesson when I stole it. Post up some pictures when you can!

Don't beat yourself up over it.  The Kimber is a fine 10mm platform overall!  IMO you did good!
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Good price for an Eclipse from what I've seen on the gun auction sites. I never see any in 10mm around this area. Have looked at one in 45 ACP......purdy handgun. Congrats.
