For what it's worth my EAA's always had the mark in beaver tail, previous Match, various compacts including current one. I think I chalk it up to 10mm shooting, real 10mm. My concern is frame/slide battering, internal wear and battering. The cone rod was a nice feature with the Match I had. But I will be getting the cone again with my upcoming purchase of the Stock 2.

If Alan adds the cone end to his rod that Sprinco will be the setup to have. If cutting a $8.00 1911 spring into 6 pieces to use with Henning's cone rod gives the same protection... ;)

I took the 1911 spring in the Pro from 1" down to .600". It's about there but still won't lock back the slide. I'm taking it as-is and see what happens after the first few hot rounds since I think it's close. It looks like one coil equals .100" in length.

This was at 1" which is where I started this morning

Both springs

Installed on the rod

In place

I would have to say it creates the desired effect given how hard that last half inch of slide travel is. One more cut to .500" may do it.
