I have seen these go as high as $3350 with box, paperwork and cleaning kit...this one will be interesting to watch.

Collector value I guess.  151 pieces is a pretty short run.

I can't say anything, I've paid more for Brens and Auto Mags.

They are rare, 10mm, and made by S&W so you have all types of collectors looking for them, myself included (I've got mine). But, when the bidding starts getting really ridiculous I think it becomes more of a personal thing, like any auction can be. I was hoping forum member ahoss79 could get this one but when the seller added that they had the box and all paperwork I went uh oh. This is the only one ahoss needs to complete his 10xx collection so I understand his desire. Strangely, I still need a 1066. Go figure. I have been around 10xx series guns for 20+ years and never, ever, saw a 1046. Luckily when I decided to put a little collection of them I found one for a high, but reasonable, price. But as in all things guns, "reasonable" can be used loosely, but I wanted it BAD......

I was in the middle of that bidding.  As MCQUADE stated, I only have the 1046 left to complete my collection of S&W 10mm's.  Honestly, if I had the money I probably would have gone higher than what it ended at, but as it was, I was going to have to sell of some of my guns to afford it.  Probably best that I couldn't stand by and watch that auction as I may have gotten in over my head.  Oh well, the search continues.

If I recall when this auction started they only showed the gun and mo box.  Someone must have asked about the box and they added it also.  That's the second one I've seen go for $3100.  The highest was sold for $3350 and was only 20 miles from my location and had no idea till it came up on GB for auction.
