No problem. I don't know what the best Deer round is. My guess on the hoopla is using the best perceived round for a humane kill. Search here for .45 Magnum for Moose video I posted.  Sad!

Ugg horrible :o >:D

just found this thread after farting around some.  the video title on that moose hunt should read 'moose downed after full mag dump'.

that is a horrible video to watch.

the animals we hunt deserve better than that crap.

I am of the opinion people go with small sample experience to pick their hunting bullets.  I am prejudice toward full penetration with expansion, full caliber hole going in and double that going out.  I know the illogic of this view.  Nosler Partitions in rifles come close to my ideal.  In truth, deer go down with self defense loads as long as only the ribcage blocks the vitals.  I've gotten as many deer with the 45 ACP with JHPs as with a rifle when younger.  I don't hunt out west now, just woods hunt under 50 yards, not because of gun limitation but near dark, no time for a rest, and so on.  I only see deer in the open after the season.  I thought a doe was going to drink out of the horse trough a couple of days ago.  They must read the Tennessee game regulations.  I like the 41 Magnum as a deer round, Winchester Silvertip 175 grain.  I suspect the 10mm auto from my Glock G20SF will do just as well!
