What I have learned through several calls:
1. Dawsen says it wont fit
2. PRP says it will
According to PRP Springfield moved the optics ready slot back while keeping the original dovetail.
So one can go either way. An adjustable sight or an optics ready sight, But not both.
As a side note Dawsen does makes a suppress height sight for those wishing to co-witness their fixed sights with an optical sight.

I hope this is clear as mud :)

I am currently having an adjustable sight fitted to my XDM Elite and will let you all know.

Is this applicable to the 10mm OSP as well, Rick?

Yes this is a 10mm. The Dawsen Precision adjustable sight intrudes on the OSP slot by about an 1/8".

so when my eyes get bad enough that I can no longer use open sights, which I prefer, I will need to get a co-witness rear sight.

Post up a picture.  Must be the front of the rear sight over hangs the dove tail slot, eh?  Can you push the rear sight out and (I hate to say this) take a Dremel to the front end?  I would use a bench grinder but Dremel is the clich

one may be able to slip an optics plate under sight, but it's going to depend of footprint of optic only has available about 1.7 inches between sight and loaded chamber indicator.
That research I will leave to you guys.

The closest i can measure with a micrometer is 1.680" from rear sight to the edge of the optics cutout.
