Around here lots of 9mm and 223 FMJ on the shelves. Very few HP or hunting rounds.

In my area I have two retailers that carry ammo/reloading components.  Scheels and Fleet Farm. Scheels has ammo pretty consistently. Most everything. Hunting rifle rounds, target rifle and handgun rounds, defensive handgun rounds. Target stuff is running about .50/round. Hunting and defensive is $1 or more. Scheels usually has 9mm, 40SW, 45 ACP, 357 Mag, 223, 308, 380, and various other rifle calibers. Fleet Farm on the other hand is still hit and miss and about the same price. Fleet Farm has been getting in alot of Norma brand ammo. I have picked up 6 boxes 6.5 Creedmoor ($24), 5 boxes 9mm ($20/50 rounds) and 20 boxes 7.62x39 $9.50/20 rounds). Both places usually have Hornady bullets in stock. Prices are a little higher but no horrible in my opinion. Scheels has Berry's bullets all the time. Scheels also has CCI primers everyday. Sometimes multiple styles and sometimes just one. Last time I was in there they had small rifle and small pistol. I have enough to not want to spend $60/1000 just yet. That could change this winter when I do most of my loading. Pretty much the only type of ammo I havent seen yet which should be on the shelves by now is the hunting handgun. 

Shotgun shells on the other hand is hard to come by. I realized I was running short on 12 gauge non toxic for pheasant hunting. Most places I hunt her in MN and Iowa non toxic is required, so I just use it all the time. I did find a box of bismuth at fleet farm and misread the label as $39.99/25 rounds. After getting a few more items and on the way home I thought my total was kinda high. Looked at the receipt and $59.99 not $39.99.  Thats gonna hurt every time I miss.
