Not sure what to think about constitutional carry, it seems like some degree of training is a good idea...Thoughts?

So should only people with at least a college minor in philosophy or poli-sci get to express opinions?

I agree training is a good idea, but it should not be a requirement to exercise a right.  There is already plenty of liability if you use a gun in a negligent way.

100% on point. Peeps need to think about the differences between rights and privileges. A privilege like driving a car necessitates training, a right does not.

I live in a constitutional carry state.
I would like to see a mandatory firearms safety training in high school to graduate. Although it might cause anti gun people's heads to explode. 😁
You can't fix stupid but you can numb it for a while with a 2X4

I'm not a teacher, but worked in a public school system for 31yrs. I had this discussion many times with so called educators. Drugs, teen pregnancy, bullying, racism, you name it and they were all for more education to solve those problems. Gun safety was the last thing they wanted to hear about. Almost laughably when school shootings were on the rise, since it was known I was an avid shooter, well liked, mostly respected, many expressed that they'd feel more comfortable if someone "like me" was armed in the schools.

I'm 100% with you. Mandatory, no opt out, firearm safety training in schools public and private. That's legislation that needs to be on the books in every state. Just don't send that fed that shot himself in the leg a few years back to teach it ;)
