Yea this must be a 10mm thing 'cause my Kimber Target II LS  sends spent casings no lie about 27' out at about 4:00 . My gun club now has new handgun "micro bays" which use concrete walls that are about 12' high  and the bays are about 14' wide so my brass just bounces off the wall and falls into a nice pile at the base of the wall.

I have teaching privileges at a local range where they have the last two lanes setup for instructors with floor to wall barriers between the booths which contain my hard to recover brass like .357 SIG, and 10mm.

I don't think I could / would suffer double digit percentage loss of brass outdoors without a setup like some  above. Good thinking!

I just fitted a flat bottom firing pin stop on my SR1911-10,  but it didn't help much at all.  Brass ended up at the border instead of all the way over in the next county.  Probably heavier recoil springs rather than mainsprings or a combination thereof may help.

I have a flat bottom firing pin stop on the way, and 3 extra power mainsprings (aka hammer springs)to try, 25, 28, and 30 pounds. I'm hoping that this will slow down the slide enough to reduce the distance the gun throws the brass. Don't want to increase the recoil spring if I do not have to.

LOL!

Even my 10mm flings it away, far away.

I built this epic contraption to recover 357 Auto Mag brass, which takes ages to form.  It looks laughable and works great. I've since modified it by adding a sunshade feature. It does a great job recovering almost everything inshoot including 10mm.
