a commonsense, bipartisan proposal

Commonsense, commonsense, repeated commonsense laws equal a serious whittling away of the 2ed Amendment. It might be a little different if they could come up with something that might actually work. Maybe addressing things such as mental health, the breakdown of the family, the lack of parenting, fatherless homes, and the lack of God and morals, and I?m sure violent video games, and movies don?t help. On top of that, this soft on crime mentality doesn?t help matters either, if there?s no accountability for say carjacking, and you know you?ll be home in time for dinner, why not. Lastly, We have an enormous number of gun laws currently on the books, maybe enforcing those would be something to consider

It is just frustrating that lawmakers won?t look at things that could actually help, things like beefing up security in schools, training and arming teachers that are willing, and abolishing gun free zones that have proven to be a magnet for these psychopath?s, but no, they look at all the feel good options that will likely accomplish nothing.

they DON'T want it to work! they need tragedy and crisis to further their agenda. like you said, there are already plenty of gun laws on the books to cover any type of crime. the problem is that they don't enforce them. just like how they ignore all the so called warning signs on these latest mass shootings. gun confiscation is their only goal. once that is accomplished, we really become a 3rd World dictatorship.  >:(

And at the rate we?re going, it won?t take long

They have no desire to make things work. They need shootings to rally the base and chip away at another piece of the iceberg. Everyone is telling themselves it?s not as bad as it could?ve been. And 50 years of that got us to this.

Kenk

It seems pretty evident the Dems don?t really want to lessen the carnage these nut jobs are inflicting. Hardening the schools and or all gun free zones would take a serious bite out of these events, yet they are intent on doing nothing that would truly help. It?s sad that furthering their agenda is more important than saving lives. If they insist on gun free zones, this is the place to start.

As long as the "they" is all major political organizations across the board, I agree.

We had a Republican President, Senate and House a few years back and we didn't one single piece of pro-gun legislation go through.  No hearing protection act, no roll-back of the extra dumb parts of the NFA about short barrel rifle or shotguns.  No national concealed weapons permit or event a general federal framework for recognition like we have with driver's licenses.

Both major parties recognize that gun control and abortion are major drivers of campaign contributions.  They want there to be contention, fear and uncertainty on these topics to get checkbooks open to fund election advertising.

The problem we need to solve is election reform, at which point we might have politicians that are interested in solving issues instead of filling campaign coffers.

TERM LIMITS!!! for both the politicians AND their unelected bureaucrats! the entrenched bureaucracy is a big problem with our Gov't.

Sqlbullet is dead on. The old and young RINOS tripped over themselves to stop anything Trump was trying to do. Guns and abortion, it?s always come back to those same two issues my entire adult life. It?s the same for the pro choice folks. Democrat controlled congress and presidency many times since 1973. Yet they never even tried to codify ?abortion rights? into law. They relied on the Supreme Court legislating from the bench.

But, you'll never get them to do anything that will endanger themselves.  Whether the visible government or the shadow government.

Matter of fact, I would propose that if the politicians didn't want schools to be provided with armed security and officers, I don't believe that politicians should be provided with armed security and officers.  It's that plain and simple.

But again, they would write a law to abort their own mothers before they will write a law that was actually good for the country.  Too many politicians are bought and paid for prostitutes selling themselves to the highest donors, other countries, drug cartels, sex traffickers, et. al.  Why else does anyone believe why they want open borders.  It's to maintain their power by counting illegals in the census to give them more seats at the table.  Stop all of that, and watch how many congressmen seats would be lost.  But they won't.

Our country is lost.  Runaway inflation from printing presses and giving away more money than necessary.  Economy is tanking.  Inflation and interest rates are up.  Food, gas, everything is up.

There are cabinet meetings weekly about "violent extremism and terrorism".  They keep using those words against anyone that is willing to stand up against them.   Insurrection.  Ppph.  Jan 6 was no insurrection.

I'm in serious fear and worry that America is lost gentlemen.

But nothing is going to change until people start going to bed hungry and cold.

That doesn't seem like it's too far around the corner either folks.

This post checked by independent fact checkers, and they're all pissed off about it.

Yes, a fine mess they have gotten us into, yet they keep digging the hole deeper and deeper.

unfortunately, there is only one way left to get rid of the parasites that run our Gov't. and that would be almost as bad as where they are dragging us. all I can say is its a good time to be old! but I really feel sorry for my kids & grand kids. they will never know the freedoms we have taken for granted for so long. :(

Marbury v Madison
?The powers of the legislature are defined and limited; and that those limits may not be mistaken or forgotten, the constitution is written,?

?the Constitution of the United States confirms and strengthens the principle, supposed to be essential to all written constitutions, that a law repugnant to the constitution is void, and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.?

Its still the law of the land.  They can do what they wish if you don't know how to stand.  This is a common law land, but you have to play in that court.  Play in an administrative court and you have lost already.

Amendment VII "In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law."
