No this is not another "which is better rant".
I had been wanting to try a 10MM 1911 for several months but never could find one that I wanted to purchase.
I found a "gunsmith fit" 10MM BAR STO barrel with the correct ramp cut on Gunbroker and picked it up for about 1/2 the MSRP.  Then I collected the other needed items - magazine, extractor, recoil springs, 10MM cases, etc.
I watched many "how to fit a 1911" videos and everything I could read.  Over about 3 days off and on I fit the barrel to my Kimber 38 Super Stainless Target II that has 1000s of rounds through it.
A short trip to the range last week to work up a load and pick the correct recoil spring (22 lbs seemed ideal).

This morning I shot 90 rounds of my chosen load - 180 Gr FP and 7.7 Gr CFE pistol @ 1.260 OAL.  Everything worked perfectly and now I can switch between 10MM and 38 Super in about 5 minutes. ;D

Welcome to the forum, 180 grain with 7.7 grains of CFE Pistol you would have been 1200 fps+ range of things maybe slightly above.
Glad everything worked out for you fitting the barrel for your pistol.
Best regards.  :D
