So looking through Shadows data I don?t see much for 2400. As I now have dies for the 10mm I have quite a lot of older unopened 2400 1980s vintage and some red dot form that same time frame. I used 2400 in 38/40 and 410 loads. Red dot doesn?t look to promising so hopefully 2400 will work. I have quite a lot of 180gr semi wadcutter cast wheel weight .402 from the 38-40 and 180gr hollow point montana gold bullets to load. I didn?t seem to find data for cast bullets. So will 2400 work with cast bullets. Second do I need to resize to .401. Not looking for max loads just good accurate loads.
You can't fix stupid but you can numb it for a while with a 2X4

This is about the best info for 2400 as listed by Alliant

I would not size down from .402 unless:

1.  The larger bullet is making the case bulge enough it won't pass a drop test.  I typically don't have this issue until .403, and then only with truly hard bullets above 15 BHN.  Bullets below that hardness get sized down by the brass during seating.

2.  You have a tight enough bore that .402 bullets won't group.  Even if your bore is .399, a .003" squeeze to get down the barrel won't matter, but it might, especially if the throat isn't cut square.

Thanks for the replies. Now just have to get the press set up.

Since it's relatively simple and you can use TMJ and in some cases jacketed load data, powder coating is an ideal economical solution for finding loads for lead bullets with more available selections for powder. Something to think  about.

2400 will work fine using the Alliant data provided by The_Shadow.  I found a bit of other data in Lee and Speer, but it's in complete agreement with Alliant.  You won't get max velocity, but I get good accuracy in 195 grainers with 1,175 fps in my 4" M610 near the top end.  Accuracy in 180s is not very good for me.

Thanks for the info. Now have to build a new bench. I have some cabinets from a remodel and a counter top for it. Haven?t reloaded sense we moved to this house. So I now have a winter project LOL. Hope the wife doesn?t see this she might have different plans for those.
