Went in for some quick meds and took a look at the gun section:

- 3 shotguns in the case. 4 rifles in the case.
- No pistol ammo, very little rifle and some shotgun shells.
- I wanted to order myself a #1102 10/22 but have to wait until tomorrow. I was told it is 3-4 month wait even if I get ordered. The price is $289 through them if I can get an order placed.

So the grabbers are still sucking it all up!

Expect this till a conclusion on the whole matter.

P33v3

Yeah cleaned out here except for odd stuff like .243 Winchester. Handgun stuff is gone. I checked Bass Pro and they are getting very thin. 10mm is still OK but Bass Pro only carries Remington 180 gr MC.

I just don't get it.  The most generic google search shows there aren't the votes in the house to pass an AWB.  This is pure panic for the sake of panic.

Danimal

To make matters worse, I checked Cheaper Than Dirt today and they are selling 50 rounds of Wolf 9mm for $20!!!

Hopefully they won't sell many of these and the Ruskies won't realize that us dumb americans panic every time a mouse farts.

Went today again. Check it out:

Basically a little rifle and shotgun. Not even a box of .22LR!

The guy I know that works there had a Marlin 60 Stainless thrown in the back. He brought it out for me and I filled out the papers. Not exactly the 10/22 I wanted but sweet and then... they said I was delayed. So now I have to wait 1-3 days. It won't be the 25 capacity of a 10/22 but holds 14, heavier and better barrel and I saw videos saying more accurate due to those things.

Found this picture. Comes with a matching scope.

I have three model 60's.  One I have had for about 30 years and it was OLD when I got it.  Great guns.  Not as sexy as the 10/22, but nothing wrong with them at all.

Intercooler

No 10/22's to be found. Actually I did find a Standard Carbine at Dick's.

Intercooler

Let me ask you a question then. This one is 227 and the Sporter 10/22 is 303 if I can order it. The features and 25 round mags worth it over this one? Majority says the 60 is more accurate.

sqlbullet

The only complaint I have with the model 60 is training new shooters with it.

You teach them to respect the muzzle and never cover anything with the muzzle that you aren't willing to shoot.  Then I hand them a model 60.  It is really hard to withdraw the loading tube without getting your hand in front of the muzzle.

Mine are very accurate.  The first one I received in 82 or 83 as a gift from a family friend.  It was a very old Glenfield, probably made in the 60's.  I don't think it had ever been cleaned.  In fact it was several years before I cleaned it enough to discover the action block was chromed.  I thought it was plastic as it was literally caked with wax and carbon build up from 10's of thousands of rounds of 22 lr.  Never jammed or failed to cycle though.

My daughter used it to pass off the shooting portion of hunter safety about two years ago.

Waiting on a GSG44 22lr from Buds.Monday nite I placed order,locked in at 400.00.Another hour later,price went to 630.00.Hour later,sold out.

Intercooler

Which is the better piece?

Intercooler

I picked it up today. Can't wait to shoot it but first time out I'm going without a scope to see what I can do. Probably a few weeks until the weather gets good enough for any trials. It's really growing on me even though it will never be a 25 capacity!

Yondering

The Marlin 60 and 70 series rifles are definitely more accurate than a stock 10/22, although the 10/22 has a better action that is more reliable and easier to make it cycle subsonics, if you want to use a suppressor. I mostly prefer the marlins overall for their accuracy, but they do need more frequent cleaning in the action, and/or keep them well oiled once they get a little dirty.

A big part of the accuracy difference is the barrel attachment to the receiver. Marlin barrels are press fit and pinned, Ruger 10/22's are a loose slip fit with a clamp block. I've thought about machining a Marlin barrel for a press fit in a Ruger 10/22 action, seems like it might be the best of both.

Also the longer barrels on the Marlins tend to be quieter with most ammo.
