Did not want to hijack Rick R's post on the Ruger 10mm. I have purchased a Ruger GP100 a 10mm Blackhawk and a S&W 610 within the last couple of months. The GP100 had decent accuracy and probably could have been better were it not for the horrible trigger, very rough and close to 5 lb's in single action, it has since left the stable. The S&W on the other hand is like driving a Cadillac, single action trigger just at 3 lb's and everything smooth as greased owl s**t on a doorknob. The Blackhawk is showing great promise and with a little tweaking should be fine hunter. Here are some expansion test I did on a few different bullets with the S&W, these were on gallon water jugs at 25 yards. All bullets were loaded over 9gn's of Longshot, didn't have a crony at the time so no velocity info. This is my first post so Howdy! and thanks for letting me in.

Yes, Ruger can have mediocre triggers, especially the newer ones. my GP100 10mm was a little rough, but it was fixable. About $35 for springs and shims and a couple hours of bench time polishing parts and installing said springs and shims and the trigger is just fine.

Howdy.  Good results on the expansion tests for the first three bullets. I'm a huge M610 fan.

I believe those Everglade bullets were designed for the .40 caliber, 10mm velocity is a bit much for them. I prefer the Federal HST's for 10mm.

Since Ruger dropped the Security six fire control group for the GP style I haven't bought a Ruger. Nothing beats a S&W. Good luck with yours.

I wasn't sure I'd like the moonclips either, but being able to shoot 40S&W was a boon, and I quickly adapted to the moonclips.  The M610 is a real honey!

Actually I like the idea of moon clips as it will be faster than a speed loader and keeps the fired brass together. I think the 10mm is perfect for a auto.  Every time I get ready to buy a 10mm revolver, I start considering the 41 mag and 44 mag and how much they offer in versatility (mild to wild).

Excellent expansion tests. I had several 10mm revolvers I used moon clips they were just quicker. Just need to make sure they do not get bent. What I found with my S&W was it liked lighter bullets than it did heavy bullets as far as accuracy. The reason I decided to part with them is because I like my 1911 and Glock 10mm allot more than a handgun and I already have 44mag revolver so no real need. That said it?s a good caliber for revolver and many custom iterations out there that are intriguing.

As to 610 vs GP-100...main reason I went with a 4" GP-100 is size...  I have a ton of S&W .41 Magnums and another N-frame .40 cal just wasn't needed.

Have three GP-100s, 10mm MC, 4" stainless .327 and another 4" in .357 Magnum...  The triggers on both the .327 and 10mm are very good but the one on the .357 is EXCELLENT. All are dead stock factory.

The trigger on my GP100 Match Champion is very good - as good as any S&W revolver I've had. And accuracy has been good as well,
so far favoring heavier loads. Most accurate load I've found yet has been the Doubletap 230gr cast FP at about 1100 fps.
