Looking to replace the guide rod and spring for my glock g40, everything has been modified internally down to the channel liner, finally received the 5x co witness night sights yesterday with a note stating the guide rod i ordered is back ordered with no date to resupply or fulfillment, im looking at the 17 pound however the stock weight is 17, im asking for experienced reference to a #15, would someone please chime in and tell me if this is doable in an  aftermarket dual spring setup with stainless guide rod.....Thanks in advance..... Btw i will be shooting factory 180 grain for the moment i have some 140 grain lehigh extreme penetrators i will be hand loading hot, i made a recoil buffer for this weapon to alleviate some of the torture to the slide and internals......again thank you for advice

Not sure what recoil setups available for the G-40's.  I will say the I run the Wolff non Captive recoil rod and 22 lbs spring in my G-20SF. The non captive springs have provided a little more spring pressure at the in battery lock up!   I have the 24 lbs spring if I'm testing higher performance loadings.  The newer Glocks have a larger hole where the recoil spring sits in the forward part of the slide.  There was an adapter that would allow some other recoil rods and springs to be used in the newer guns.

That being said study what's out there to see what is possible!.  Good luck!
The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!

gotcha, ive been looking at that guide rpd setup that you speak of in the NDZ  and ISMI brands, i can get the flat spring captive in both however im liking the lone wolf dual spring setup only because everything i have added to the weapon is from lone wolf, im going to order the one you speak of and the lone wolf to give them both a try, the lone wolf has the #17 and the other has #15 i can change the spring weight on the lone wolf as well as the captive if need be, i am aware of that adapter also as i had issue with that in a G45 i built, i will give a range report after they arrive and shoot the weapon sir....thank you for replying......

When I say Wolff springs it is not Lone Wolf!  However the Wolff company has no recoil rods for the Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks as of yet!
Someday Wolff may add to their product line to include the G-40 and other gen4-5 models
