Any of you shot the Mossberg 835 ulti mag with a slug barrel? I currently use this weapon for coyote hunting with Carlson's Coyote Choke, and has proven itself very effective. This fall I'm looking at picking up a rifled slug barrel for the 835 to have along in case the hopeful whitetail is out of range, (or at least out of my comfort range) with the P220 Hunter 10mm. Either way, it should be a blast as always 😀

I have the fully rifles cantilever bbl. I have a 1x Redfield on mine.

Shoots lightfields real well!

I wish I had a fully rifled barrel for my Rem 870, my 20" barrel has rifle sights but smooth bore.

Thanks, for an inexpensive shotgun, the 24" slug barrel is kind of a rip at $200.00 or a bit more 😩

I have had two of them. I sold the Cantilevered bbl when I bought my H&R Ultra slug Hunter. To tell the truth, It never was accurate enough with any slugs I tried.
The second is what ya want rifle site and its only OK. The Mossy 835 is really almost as good as the H&R! (H&R is insane with big but touching holes past 100yards.) It shoots inside 3 ta 4" @ 100 yards. With most better/ premium slugs. Shoots 2-3" @ 50 with 3" Rem Sluggers. But leads pretty bad.

Thanks CW, considering 50-60 yards is all I need at my primary location, it should work fine

Agreed, Probably fine to 100 if ya aim center lungs too. (Deer/Hog/Bear). It just nice to have a lil better. Esp when I have some smooth bore that can hot a soft ball every time at 60/75 hards!  :P :o

Plus the rifled barrel should be very beneficial I think

Kenk

Just found one / ordered it from GB for $192.00, a little better price than expected 😀

Will do. My hope is taking a buck and two doe's, or 3 doe's with the P220...which is totally unlikely : (,  The zone / area I hunt has had a low deer population for many years, and have had either a buck only, or hunters choice (1) deer max. According to the DNR, the numbers are high this year, and bonus tags are available. For me, yes, a bunch of venison would be awesome, but  scouting, preparation, and just hanging out in the woods waiting are as much fun as taking the shot, ok fine, taking the shot is right up there
