Hey guys and gals! First post....

I have decided to give Blue Dot a try to see if I can get better accuracy than I am getting with BE-86.

I have loaded 35 rounds, 5 each from 10.8 grains to 12 grains in .2 grains  increments. I am loading these in new Winchester brass, CCI LPP and Hornady 155 grain XTPs. The pistol is a Springfield XDm10 4.5 OSP. It has a threaded 5.3 inch barrel and fully supported chamber.

I have searched and read most every thread I could find concerning Blue Dot. From those with experience loading this powder, any words of wisdom or concerns would be much appreciated!!

Welcome Alabusa,
One of my favorite, and most accurate mid level loads is 10.4gr's of Blue Dot under a 180gr XTP or HAP.

Thanks Ken! I will be working up a load for 180s next.

There's something about that 10.4 Gr BD / 180gr XTP, plus that load is way more accurate than I am 😀

That's my go to load also. Shot out of a Gen 4 Glock 20. Probably the best load I found for my gun.

I would buy some 180s but I have over 300 155s already. Maybe I can find the sweet spot for them.

11.5gr of Blue Dot under a 155gr GDHP was very accurate thru my 4.5 in XDM, moving at 1340fps.

Thank you, sir! I will be shooting 11.4 and 11.6. Maybe one of those two will hit for me.

Update:

So, I loaded 5 rounds each, at .2 grain increments from 10.8 to 12.8.
The Alliant load data gave a max of 12.0 bit the Hornady load data with 155 XTPs gave a max of 12.9.  Primers started to flatten at 12.4 and 12.6 had flat primers, ejector swipes and dented case mouth. The cases also have a very slight bulge at the base just above the rim. Unfired cases are .420 diameter and fired cases are .425.

I got pressure at 12.6, only fired 2 rounds and did not fire the 12.8. For my gun with my loads, 12.0 gave 1 ragged hole accuracy and I am not a great pistol shot.

I am going to load 5 more each at 11.9, 12.0 and 12.1 to further narrow down the sweet spot.

Update #2:

Went back to the range today with 10 rounds each of 11.9, 12.0 and 12.1. I settled on 11.9 as the load. Testing is now complete for 155 XTPs.

Thanks for the update Alabusa.
What made you decide on 11.9 grains? Accuracy? Just a "feeling"?

Yes accuracy. I don't care about fps as I want ultimate accuracy. Having said that, this load is a touch over 1300 fps.

Alabusa,
Thanks for the information on the Blue Dot. This is my first post in a 10mm forum, but not my first time to reload. I have been reloading for over 25 years, but just started reloading the 10mm. I have three of them. A Colt Delta Elite Gold Cup, S&W 1066 and a Springfield XDM-10 4.5. I have been shooting the Colt and S&W for years but just picked up the Springfield about 6 months ago. I had a birthday 8/26 and received 1000 once fired cases and 2 boxes of 250ea. Nosler 150gr JHP and 1 box Nosler 135gr JHP that I want to work up some loads for. I have been looking for some 180's which is what my factory loads are. I use a Dillon Square Deal B for my handgun loads and a RCBS Single Stage Rock Chucker for my rifle calibers.
