I hope this is ok to post here, its a heck of a deal! @ $.062ea.

Here's Accura Outdoors page for em`
https://accuraoutdoors.com/product/40-180-fp/

Suggested max velocity is 1,300fps.. They would make great plinker or competition loads. I'd be all over them if I didn't just swoop up 5k 170gr Precision Coated bullets for $290. Berry's plated for 3K is $408.12! Happy & Safe reloading y'all!

P.P. (post, post?)

Here's another .40/10mm deal

It really only saves you $4.. but if you don't wanna buy 2,500 for $210 direct from Bear Creek..

That is a good deal but I already have enough plated bullets to last me quite a while. I am strongly leaning towards going  strictly plated. I do mold my own but it seems like too much work lately with the need to size and lube every bullet I drop. Even considering that I have automatic temperature control on my melting pot, plated bullets seem to be the answer. A simpler and much cleaner process at that. Perhaps one day I will find a buyer of my molding equipment  and I will be able to move on ...

Man, I don't know where you live.. The name suggest California. But I'd hold onto that Casting equipment! I seen some fella's talking about this bill on a local forum here in GA. It applies to California and how basically they want to outlaw lead bullets completely. No self defense lead rounds, no lead at indoor shooting ranges, the list goes on.. Plus with it being election year, who knows what's gonna happen. If some gun grabbing Democrats get control they'll fail at getting our guns and go after ammunition in any way they can. 300% taxes, background checks, and even some sort of EPA fee for buying Lead bullets..

Absolutely, I'm pretty sure most states have figured that out by now; if we can't get rid of the guns,  we will target their ammo...It's just a sad state of affairs

It's been my experience that plated bullet manufacturers are overly optimistic in their max velocity limits. I'll use plated in slow 45ACP liads when there's a good sale, but that's it. Some folks claim to have no issues with plated and velocities over 1000fps, I practice at 100yds and have yet to find a plated with acceptable performance at that range.

I think there is a bit of difference in the thickness of the plating between manufacturers. The Berry's 115gr hollow base thick plate 9mm run just fine out of my PCC. I haven't had chance to chronograph those yet, but I'm sure they're well over 1000fps.

If anyone gets some I would really like to know how they shoot...  About three years ago I got some 165s from them that were so out of balance they were running 6" groups at 10 yards where as the 155 Berry's plated and 165 Gold Dots were just creating large one hole groups in the target.

This was out of four different 10mms and two shooters so it was the bullets...

Sent pictures of the targets to Accura and they sent replacement bullets in two other calibers, .45 and 9mm. Have only loaded up the .45s and they shot just fine....just a bad batch of bullets I guess...

Im seeing mixed results with plated bullets. In my G20 with 3 barrels its unusual to get 3 out of 5 shots on an 8x11" sheet of paper at 30 yds-1100FPS up to 1300FPS. Off a rest. On the otherhand when firing them from my P220, Xtreme 180 HPs shoot about as well as good jacketed bullets. The other brands of plated bullets have more open groups. But not the scattergun patterns.
The plated bullets from the Glock barrels usually have 1-2 shots dead center on POA, and the others up to 2' off the group. None of the errant shots have hit a clean background for a good bullet hole print, but I suspect they are shedding plating and going off balance. It sounds as though the lead cores are too tough(Brinell-18) to deform much so the plating sounds like the culprit. Pull downs of loaded rounds shows no deformation of the plating. Why theres a difference in performance from one barrel to another is a puzzle.
