Picked up a 44 magnum super Blackhawk.
Never loaded for a 44, loaded a lot of 45 LC, I would think it's similiar.
Look for advice on a clean load using .430 cast/powder coated 240gr swc that is in the
850-1000 FPS range. On hand I have ramshot competition, true blue, No. 2, Titegroup, 700x, clays, universal, has-6, WSF, unique, herco, Power pistol, be 86, blue dot, Longshot, 4227, and some others.
Shot some 240gr loaded with 20grs of No.9. Not the most pleasant load for target.
   Any advice would be appreciated.
Man I shoot way too much :)

BE-86 would be nice at 8.8 grains to give you right @ 1000 fps with the 240 grain bullets.
I shoot a lot with Blue Dot but upper end for 44 Mag but have played with 13.2 grains from the 44SPL brass in mine for plinking!
A lot of people like the Unigue loads for target play...

If you ever want to make that Blackhawk sing, try 19.0gr 2400 under a 240gr Speer HP. That gets you by the book 1272'ps. My brother has 3 Super Blackhawks and they all shoot this load good enough that he can keep the bullets on a 6" steel plate at 100 yds. Shoots pretty tight out of his 9.5" Redhawk too.

I do have some 2400.. forgot about that powder. And a bunch of Blue Dot..
I'm not a fan of trail boss, not the cleanest and leaves a odd film on the brass and gun, for me at least.
I had good luck yesterday with 9gr of true blue and 5gr of Competition was very mild but accurate and pleasant to shoot.
I gotta load up some hot stuff, I mean it's a 44 magnum. Think I'm going to work up some lil gun
   Thanks for the help guys

Blue Dot is a fine powder for 44 magnum, but not for light loads.  It likes to get the pressure up there before it burns good.

I really wish blue dot was a fine powde, meters like hell ;)
