Getting a Glock G29 for Christmas!  Getting it set up for EDC.  I would like some recommendations of a good self defense load with the 180 Hornady XTP, and Blue Dot, Power Pistol or BE-86 powders.  Which of the three powders do you recommend?  It would be nice to get a velocity of around 1,200 fps out of the short barrel of a G29.

By the way I have heard a rumor that Glock maybe announcing soon a new 10mm auto handgun the G49, a single stack with a eight round magazine!

Star Child, Welcome to the forum!  All 3 powders will work for the application you want.  However I would suggest BE-86 powder for its flash suppressed formula.
It meters very well and burns clean and will yield good velocity and accuracy.  I would suggest about 8.2-8.4 grains of BE-86 to reach your velocity...

Enjoy the forum! :D

Thanks Everyone, Love the 10mm, I will try 8.3 grains of BE-86 with the 180 grain XPT.

Afternoon Star Child,
As much as I like Blue Dot, BE-86 is fast becoming one of my favorite powders, and yes, Shadow's 8.2 - 8.4gr's charge should get you your desired velocity (I'm using aprx the same)
