I've been reading a lot in regards to a G30 to 45 Super conversation. Some say swap out the barrel to a 45 Super, others say don't even do it....Thoughts
Thanks

I've read a ton on the Super and Rowland this past winter.  Consensus on the Glocks was to go with a aftermarket fully supported chamber barrel and heavier springs.

The M&P I have is fully supported, the Kimber 1911 not so much. Waiting on springs for the M&P but have ran a couple loads from the Kimber with Starline super brass with no issues.

It looks like a fun rd, have never looked into it until now

On the Glock forum there is a 90+ page topic on it, plus a couple side bar ones too.

First run with the Kimber was 9.5gr 800x with a 230gr hard cast in super brass, tad over 1100fps, all looks good.

I have some coated 255gr swc  Missouri bullets I want to try this weekend, then some of their 215gr and 225gr later on.

I've run some 45 loadings with 230gr heads that were in the Super range... Stock Sig 220.

When you get over 1000fps it does get kind of snappy , but no signs of over expansion in case with very slight primer flattening.

Some of the listings are moving quite fast for a heavy bullet!

Barrel and recoil spring is all you need. I used 24lbs spring and KKM barrel.

Hold on tight though!

Thanks, is the recoil comparable to the G29?

Yes, very close to shooting 220 HC by underwood

Kenk

So a KKM G30 Barrel and a 24 lb spring upgrade and that's it? Would using the G30's factory spring setup be problematic or dangerous ?
Thanks

Never tried it but you may get mag issues due to increased slide speed.
