This might seem like a weird question. Between Power Pistol, Blue Dot, H110, 2400, Ramshot Silhouette, 800X, and LongShot, which would you expect the largest fireball with a 6.5", .44 mag? I've always loaded for power and accuracy, not visual effect.

Well saturated loads of H-110/296 does make some fireballs more so in the orange to yellow color range, where as Blue Dot's flash more yellow color and Power Pistol more to a brighter yellow to white.  A lot of the flash depends on the amount of powder used vs. what actually burns before the bullet exits the barrel vs. if the hot gas will ignite again as more air is encountered.

The amount of actual light will play into what you actually see...the darker the more the flash will show.  Your eyes may or may not detect the flash on a particular shot, where as a video will show things better.  There are many powders that have flash suppressants to help reduce the amount of flash...

Thanks Shadow! This is for a photography project. Shots will be fired at dusk, near dark. I was leaning towards the Blue Dot and H-110.

Interesting thought. I have some 180gr Silvertips that have been sitting in my reloading room for years. I wasn't planning on using them for hunting and don't use a .44mag for self defense.... So this might be the ticket.

Yup !

I did some extensive load development in my Desert Eagle 44 mag , and a full house 240gr  load with  H110  yields a dam impressive muzzle flash/blast and a louder muzzle blast than other magnum powders. 

You should capture one of the shots & post it, love seeing stuff like that 😀

Power Pistol and BlueDot seems to have much greater flash for me than anything else.

Here you go.
Slow burning powders and light bullets make for some serious flash. H110/296 is the king.
The muzzle blast is pretty serious as well.

H110 of those choices would give you the most sunlight.  Another option is 300mp which actually surprised me with the flash and boom it made, even moreso than h110!

I've used the Sierra 180s with 29-31 grains of H110 and the flash is great especially from a 4" barrel....

If you want REAL flash...as in beard burning flash, find a friend with a 4" S&W 500...43 grains of H110 with a 350 grain bullet...the flash can be seen on a sunny day...it is a real hoot in an indoor range...
