I am looking to get a 10mm for mostly woods carry. DAO or double/single action. Hi capacity.  Preferably light weight. Glock , EAA and Grand Power seem the most likely.  The Glock would do the job but doesn't have that good of feel in the hand.  The other 2 I have concerns over reliability and longevity  with full power rounds.

Woods gun, hog hunting:
1.  Light weight
2.  High capacity
3.  RELIABILITY
4.  Anything but a beauty queen so very little irrational emotional attachment to inanimate object: When it gets muddy, filthy, scratched, knocked around, etc. no tender feelers. 
5.  More than accurate enough for the stated application. 
6.  Very reasonable cost of entry.
7.  Limitless customization...

I went with gen 3 Glock 20SF (tritium night sights, 22lbs RSA & stainless guild rod just cause I don't like plastic guild rods) to fill that bill.  Its never disappointed.  I have other 10mm pistols which are admired for their different charms and attributes but none that fill the bill above better. 

Possibly consider the Dan Wesson Valor -5inch (38 ounces-BUT best balance ever in hand!) with lots of 10 round magazines--has shot reliably light 10mm 1100 fps and over 1350 fps (with 24-26 pound wolf spring). Sight acquisition wonderful.  The feel in hand is unlike any 1911 I have tried (Colt,KImber, Combat Delta,Ruger or Glock 20 & 40). Buy once cry once- see some less than $1500 or there about.

It's hard to beat the G20, plus they don't get much more reliable

Can't go wrong with a new model Witness in wonderfinish. They'll eat anything and last forever.

There is no reason to be concerned about a witness longevity.  Many of us here have thousands of rounds thru guns that look like new on the inside.

So what's a good price for the EAA Witness? Looks like Buds has them for aprx 550

EAA polymer witness if you don't like a Glock.

While 1911's are great guns, I don't practice /carry SA enough to be willing to rely on my skills getting the safety off in a hectic encounter. I really like my Grand Power in 9mm , but have not seen many posts about 200 grain 1200 ft/sec. Being shot much through them. But it seems the mag drop issue may be solved. Whitnesses are built off the CZ design which I love as I have more then one of them. But it seems that I have seen some negative feedback with some of the 200 grainers.

I have shot quite a few 200G 1260 FPS through my GP40, on the order of 1K or so. It has not changed anything, and you don't feel like you are shooting something that hot either. Just my .02 as I also have 1911's, Glocks and a SIG in 10mm. I like them all but my favorite is the GP.

+1 on the Glock 20.

This is what I carry as my woods gun,

I have the tru-glo sights installed. This pistol is accurate and reliable, and I am not worried

about the glock getting dinged up or scratched.

The G20 and I added a lone wolf 6inch barrel and XS sights to mine.
A Paradise Valley Leather chest rig or Fobus belt holster on my hip or the back pack belt.
I did carry a .41 magnum Ruger Blackhawk for many years, but since seeing three wolves together while blackpowder hunting last year I wanted more rounds on/in hand. Fully loaded the G20 weighs less too.
I should add that elk and deer hunting is walking between 8-12miles/day so weight is a big concern especially since I'm closer to 60 years old than 50 these days!
I'm willing to pretty much shoot any round that's hardcast/jacketed, above 200grns.
When I've encountered predators it's always been at relatively short range (<50 yds) and unexpected when it happens(for both me and the critter). My experence makes me focus on accurate shot placement and having firepower under stress.

I have been carrying my S&W 329PD for the last decade or so. The .44 mag is a great round but think I would like a little more volume these days and the 10mmm would take care of anything I am reaaly likely to encounter.

Hot 44 magnum out of a pistol weighing 25oz....  "That's gonna leave a mark"......
Bet that was fun to practice with. 
Your gonna love the capacity and firepower of 10mm by comparison (I'll bet)!
