Dear Forum

Which Wolff recoil springs do you find works best for hot buffalo bore, swamp fox, double tap, Underwood ammo for the 10 mm Valor and/or Smith Wesson 1076 in the following grains: less 180, 180, 200 plus?

I purchased some wolf 24lb (41924) and a Wolff 26 pound recoil spring (41926) for this purpose--factory feels less and they advised higher weight as well. I also bought Wolf recoil spring 20lb (47920) and 22lb (47922) for SW1076.

Just curious about "grain to spring" since many here reload and have far more experience with this. JUST FYI-the Valor is just the nicest balance feeling 1911 I have used-- even with sig ammo in 10mm going 1200-1250, if you don't purchase one go try a friends at the range.

thanks for any opinions

Before springs...Flat bottom firing pin stop.

Next, add a lb or two to the mainspring.

Then maybe a 22 lb recoil spring.

The original 10xx series Smith & Wesson recoil spring was 18 lbs.  I run the 22 lb in my S&W guns.  The 20 lb also works well in the 4.25" up to a point where the upper most performance ammo can yield too much slide velocity.
The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!
