Both lungs and a toasted heart. Ran 20yards, game over.
Almost 2 years ago I began a quest to get a deer with my carry gun. I started with a G29 that I missed a buck with last year. I bought a Kimber that I shot better, but wasn't completely satisfied on reliability for carry. Bought  a G40 and have carried it or the 29 ever since. Mostly the 40, really the 40.
Now that I have completed the quest I think I will go back to carrying 9mm.

Congrats on the first deer. I've taken 2 so far with my G20L.

First was a doe at just under 30 yards with 200 grain XTP hand loads.

Second was another doe at almost the same distance with Underwood 220 grain hardcast.

Neither made it past 20 yards.
