Do any of you notice a difference in large pistol primers from one manufacturer to another?

Performance wise I have never seen a great difference, the last time I tested there was about 25 fps or less difference between Fed, Rem and Win. I have certainly seen differences in the fit though, some seem to be looser and others tighter. S&B seems to have the best overall fit (for me and my 650) in Starline brass.

The differences are slight at most, however the Brisance is what can make that difference to ignite the charge of powder.
What is Brisance?  It is the shattering capability of a high explosive, determined mainly by its detonation pressure.  This detonation pressure wave is driven deeper into the powder adding heat to ignite the power more fully faster...

There was an article in Handloader some years back where they tested a variety of primers using the exact same load data in a pressure barrel to see the impact on pressure of a different primer.  I was surprised at the variation as it was several thousand PSI from the weakest to the strongest.

I don't remember any details about the test protocols, but it did re-enforce to me that I need to be sure to reduce 10% and work back up if I am at max and change primers.
