Looks like the standard Legion upgrades.  This is DA/SA, not SAO as was rumored.  The dealer expects to get them tomorrow.

Yes. Pictures are of 4.4 inch version or no pics at all. Just so you guys know.
Should be awesome pistol.
I personally would like to see 4" carry version in 10mm.

I picked up a P229 in 40 S&W with a factory 357 sig barrel over the weekend.  Haven't shot it yet.

But, on the face of it, I don't see what this gun has that my G29 with a +2 pinky extension doesn't, except for a bit short grip reach and SA length of pull (DA is longer).  And for a lot less money.

In fact, for the cost of a P229, I could get a G29 + a 40 barrel + a 357 sig barrel and have $50 left over to put towards a 9X25 barrel.

Don't get me wrong.  The Sig whispers to me.  I like metal.  I like "soul".  The sig is metal, has a soul.  It has levers and buttons.  It is featured on some of my favorite TV shows, and is the pick of the Air Marshall's service which says something.

But as far as raw function and form, the G29 is hard to argue with, even if it is cold and impersonal.

At least, that is how I am keeping $1,700 in my bank account at the moment.

lots of different variations on Sig 229
I think you will find that it is a very accurate pistol. I have legion 229 in .40 with barsto 40 to 9mm conversion barrel. (Don't shoot 9mm in that gun very often)
IF THAT GUN was a 10mm it would pretty much be perfect to me. magazine is too short for 10mm. Probably grip on frame too.
Its the Sig triggers that speak to me. I have Glock 10mm guns and I am just OK in accuracy department with the glock's
Maybe because I learned on M&P, maybe the better triggers, maybe ??
I am more accurate with Sigs. My friend who learned on Glocks can't do well on my Sigs but its probably mostly practice

There would be the difference for me.

First, I gotta admit, I don't like the two-stagey trigger on the Sig or on my HK P30's.  I don't like that reset leaves me with over 1/8" take-up before I hit the sear.  Feels like wasted effort.

The Glock trigger is nominally worse with lots of "creep".  But the reset leaves you right against the sear, and while I move trigger about the same amount for the next shot, it feels smoother to me as it is consistent smooth pressure through the stroke.

I get that this is preference.

And while I get that the Sig may shoot groups better than my Glock. But I gotta find out if I can put more rounds in the A-zone in a given time with one.  And I don't think I will shoot the Sig faster.

I don't begrudge anyone a Sig if that is what they like.  Just not sure for me if it is worth $200+ more.

There are now fourteen of these on Gunbroker, ranging in bid from $1419 up to about $1700.  There doesn't seem to be a bunch of rapid movement on these.  Has Sig priced this too high?

Street price should be 1200 same as 45 version. IMO
People are just trying to capitalize on new release

I waited almost a yr for my LGS to get in. 10 mm Sig 220 at a realistic price

Patriot

$1,700 for an 8 round capacity handgun?

I can drop $700 on a Witness Stock and have 14 round mags in a superior firearm.

This.  The Scorpion and Lipseys DA/SA models should be $700-$800.  The SAO Match models should be $1K, and the Legion should be $1200.

It isn't clear if you're describing the P220 models but, if so, I can tell you as a dealer with a Lipseys account that your numbers are quite a bit lower than dealer pricing, several hundred lower in fact.

Sneed, I am not saying dealers are gouging the consumer or even that Lipseys is.

I am saying that the 10mm P220's should be priced in line with the 45 ACP ones. At least if they want to sell lots of them. Maybe a $50-100 premium.

But I go on Gunbroker and can find a 45 ACP P220 new in box of $700-800:
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/686046302
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/686300967

The SAO Match P220 in 45 ACP are $850-$1000:

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/686981895
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/685510157

And the Legion P220 in 45 ACP is $1050-1200.

There are twenty P220 Legions in 10mm on Gunbroker right now.  Fifteen listings, one with six items.  Only one auction that has any bids, and it is a no reserve started at $1419, and it has one bid.

The P220's are really priced above what the market will pay.  It isn't a lack of interest in 10mm, it is just that we won't pay these prices for basically "off the shelf" guns.

I would imagine a large chunk  of the difference  between  the P220 10mm & 45acp is the steel vs aluminum  frames. The lipsey 2 tone10mm also has night sights and a SRT trigger which would also add cost over a standard  P220.

Hell ,  they all cost to much!
