When just seating not crimping (I have the Lee factory crimp die as last step) any hollow points, they were getting deformed, nose was folding inward, Speer GDHP, Sierra HP, ect...starting to really tick me off, Goodness,  so I came up with a way to solve this issue buy getting a .40cal trimmer pilot and cut the shaft down to where it goes into the hollow point snuggly and just touches top of bullet as well.

This only works on the GDHP and Sierra HP...it is to big for Hornady and Noslers, still need to figure out that one

Now they turn out perfect without the cave in, yes, a little slower but worth it to me...

The only ones I had issue with was trying to stuff max or slightly over box max AA#9, this was a compressed loading with the older microbead and not the newer flattened ball mix.  The compression of the powder actually was backing the bullets back out.

I often wondered why a pointed seater stem wasn't provided for HP designs though...

It was mainly happening with New brass for me....14.2gr of A#9... 180gr I think is just under compressed load.

Oh, and the .40 cal case trimmer seats the bullet straight and true thru the die.
