To make a stupid story short I needed small bore handguns for a ccw course I am involved in. I bought a Kimber conversion kit for my 10mm to make it "wait for this" a 22. Yes 10mm to 22. The kit was nice but the directions to dismantle the Kimber was so  vague I had to get help to take it apart. With help it was easy just wrong directions to screw me up. Now for some good news. The conversion is easily reversed!!!!!! Soooo please forgive me !!! Oh yeah I have other 10mm's also.   :))         Craig

Should be a great little trainer.  Also good for quals if allowed as shooting 22 is way easier than shooting full house 10mm.

Good for you Craig!  Glad you got it up and running.  So you traded 0.40 for 22, that used to be one of the things why a gun is better that a woman... ;D

Top 10 Reasons a Gun is Better than a Woman
10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road.
8. If you admire a friend's gun, and tell him so, he'll let you try it out a few times.
7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.
6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
3. A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?"
2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.
And the number one reason a gun is favored over a woman....
1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR THE GUN.

I thought about showing that to my wife but years of experience (34)kicked in and I decided to pass.

I didn't want to go to far with this but I wanted to convert this gun because the kit was available and it can be easily converted back also I needed several 22's to test people in an indoor range for ccw license testing BTW shot today and it worked OK but started to have feed issues so I think it needed oil. Very accurate though.  Craig

Craig you may need higher impulse 22 ammo in the 1200 fps range or a weaker recoil spring with less impulse.

I know some 22's will not work with sub sonic loads...

OK found some Browning 22's that are 1430 FPS. Will try that tomorrow. The gun store reminded me that there would be a break in of a few hundred rounds as the kit had a new slide and barrel, I bet that Mr. Shadow has it correct as I could barely feel the shot in the Kimber due it's weight and light rounds. We will see!!  Craig

OK shot the Browning loads after oiling up the two guns and there was no issues with either guns. I will try the lighter rounds at a later time as it is very wet at the range now. I was shooting a Winchester round yesterday that was rated at 1300 but not sure when I shot them compared to the American Eagle which were very light. Anyway all fixed and more shooting I feel will improve both guns.  :) Craig
