Please Convince Me That I'm Wrong About The Grand Power

So after reading some hype here on the 10mm Grand Power and that Gouger Mountain sold them, I went on a hunt.

The guys behind the counter were shocked that I asked to see one. None were on the shelf so they retrieved a pair, a 9 and a 40 from the back. I was very excited and planning on buying a Ten right there if they had one.

I gotta be honest here, I went limp pretty fast. They had this cheesy, flimsy plastic safety that flexed when operated. The plastic frame material seemed inferior to a Glock, SW, XD. Both pistols had a good sized seam at the trigger guard with no attempt to conceal.

I have to admit, I was pleasantly relieved that they not only didn't have one in stock, but could not order one either.

I did like the fit and finish on the slide and cool rotating barrel.  But that is not enough to convince me to buy one.

Vice,
I have one of the first GP 10mm to be imported and I love the gun. I believe that the safety has been changed since my gun was brought in, so I my experience may be different. The safety on my GP has a smaller bump. The newer ones seem to use more flush "dots". My safety is sturdy and doesn't flex in the least. As to the frame, the poly material seems to be the same standard material used on any other poly gun I have used/handled. I have an EAA P Compact and I would say they are the same thickness and consistency. I also didn't see that the seam was anymore noticeable on the GP than other poly gun, but it's not a major issue for me.

Not sure if there are design changes on the latest GP's but My 2015 ish X-Caliber is one of my favorite guns. When you mentioned the seam I had to go back and check if it had one which it does.  I then looked at my HK, CZ and Steyr polymer pistols and they all have a mold seam in the same spots.  I don't think I have seen any mfg go back and try to hide the mold seams. I would like to check out the grip thickness/trigger reach on a P40 in 10mm or even a P45 but have yet to see one in person.

Wow, that is unfortunate. My GP 40 (10mm) has a visible seam but nothing you can feel. The safety is solid as is the entire gun. Sorry to hear that is what is now being presented.

Apologies for being late checking back.  I used all of the memory in my iPad and it is now it is being cantankerous.

Thank y'all for your replies.  I will reconsider if I come across a 10 in person.
