I just got the #91255 LE 50 Round box for $35.94.

I decided to go that route for my G29 for SD. They average 1083 out of a G29, while the CD averaged 977 from a G23. So it's not full power 10mm, but it is still 100 fps faster than the .40 in comparable barrels (3.78" vs 4.05").

This is my first 10mm, so I'm starting in the lower end of the spectrum to make sure my follow up shots stay acceptable. I will work my way up to the Underwood stuff.

The Federal .40 S&W 155 grain JHP cartridges we were issued by our agency were going about 1,200 fps out of 5" barrels. Since I retired I got rid of my .40 Sig P229 Stainless Elite and only carry fullsize 5" 10mm 1911 pistols with Underwood ammo 140 gr Xtreme Defender. Ballistics are 1,500 fps 5" barrel and 700 ft lbs energy. That's much better than any .40 ammo. Good luck with your training rounds. Follow up shots aren't too difficult unless your shooting 20-25 yards. Even with 9mm I don't rapid fire at 20-25 yards.

It's becoming my full time carry pistol. Open and concealed. Around here, open doesn't seem to freak anyone out,  and it's so much easier.

I transitioned last year to the Hornady 175gr Critical Duty JHP for my Glock 20SF house pistol because of its excellent expansion, reliable feeding and feel like I don't need my Underwood 165gr Gold Dot JHP or DT Hard Cast rounds for here in the house.  The latter are saved for the road and the back country.

While all the ammo mentioned are fairly straight forward to handle in the G20, the Hornady, based on all the videos I've seen and read about the ammo, will be A-OK for home defense.

Enjoy your 10mm.

Y'all give the Hornady 40sw 165 FTX a try. These will smart your hand good.  :o
How powerful is 10mm? Well, see those craters on the moon?

I've shot both Uw 10mm 180 FMJ and Hornady 40sw 165 FTX at the range one time. The 180 smacks my hand pretty good but the 165 (with the LWD 40sw barrel in G29), it's worse.

Try it I dare you.  :P
