I'm considering buying a Charter Arms Pitbull in .40S&W does anyone have any info about the quality of these guns? Years ago I purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog Tracker in .357 mag. It was the worst handgun ever made. The front sight was'nt soldered on straight and the ejector rod broke while in the frame making it so I could'nt open the cylinder. After sending it back to Charter Arms for repairs it was returned with the front sight resoldered in another location and a new ejector rod in place. I traded it away as soon as I could and swore I'd never buy another again. Has the quality gotten better? I don't want to make the same mistake all over again.

I had the exact gun you're talking about. After firing about 10 rounds, it would spit lead all over he place. My son was shooting in the next stall caught  a piece of lead in the back of his head. I sent it back and was assured it was repaired properly. Took it to the range only too find out that it immediately spit lead. Sent it back a second time, this time they sent back a brand new gun. I immediately traded this gun for my glock 20. Just FYI.

That is a shame, I was under the impression that Charter Arms made some good revolvers. Evidently I was mistaken.

This is a pic of my Charter Bulldog 44 Spl ..
Its a dang good revolver ..I also have a Alumium frame 38 Charter .. Great revolver

Over the years I have owned a dozen or more Charter revolvers ..
One was a 40 S&W revolver .. I liked it . I guess over 1K rounds thru it ... Only thing I didn't  like about it was the "clips" that are built on tbe clyinder, where moon clips are not needed .. I rather have moon clips ...
As anything that is made by man .. they are a chance someone may make a mistake...
With Charter ,They have a great customer service ...
