I'd just get an indexing turret press.

Remove the indexing rod and it's essentially a single stage, great for mastering the basics. With indexing rod it's a production machine w/o the complexities of a progressive.

I just started as well,  got a LEE single stage with the quick detach/breach inserts-if you buy this kit,  order more of the quick release threaded sleeves, the kit only comes with one.

I use single stage to start,  because you learn more of the process-learn to ride a bicycle before motorcycle theory,  also, if your going to load more than one cartridge, these are cheap enough to buy 1 for each cartridge,  as you'll won't need the whole kit for each cartridge after.  Next I think I'll get the handpress, for when I go out of town.  The dies for the Lee kit will fit these as well.

I've seen from professionals,  bad loads from progressives,  and these guys load for a living,  the mentality becomes speed,  for some NOT all-I'm not against progressive,  but seems like they get taken for granted sometimes, and as a newbie like me, starting off, quality (and learning), not quantity should be our focus-just my opinion/frame of thought
