Picked up a new truck yesterday.  2016 Ram 3500 HD with the Cummins 6.7.  Looking forward to many, many long years with the beast.  And many, many tons of lead hauled.

Load that baby up! Those diesels love to work. I worked as a service advisor for a Dodge dealership and people would bring in their trucks with the check engine light on. Technician would pull the code and let them know they need to tow more than groceries. When I win the lottery I'll get a 3500 Dodge Dually and have it tweaked. The same technician could do a "tweak" that would make it a sports car and towing monster. Said you could beat the normal production sports cars off the line everyday, and still tow a mountain with it.

Once my 99 Ram finally gives up the ghost... If it ever does... That looks to be the exact, except maybe for bed, the truck I love. Congrats on a beautiful truck......but I really have to be a long bed....can't tell is that the regular bed?

sqlbullet

Short bed.  Long bed was just too long for my needs.  The one ton was needed for my lead hauling every 4-6 weeks.  I do tow a trailer from time to time, but a 3/4 would have handled those needs.

So far, I am loving it.

Outstanding, I'm not a Dodge man but they are sharp looking trucks. Good luck with it.

Congrats on the new truck!

Highly suggest some luverne Megasteps using the frame mounts they make. Much Stronger than the factory steps and look better IMO.

Granted mines not a 3500, but I bought a 2016 last year in september just as they were coming out. Two things I genuinely miss about my old truck is the stick shift, and the open floor plan. I hate full length consoles, but its all you can find on the dealer lots and they don't want to give as good of deals on special orders. At least not round these parts.

30MPG on a long distance hunting trip doesn't hurt at all. Since then I have cracked 33 a couple times when there are lots of 60mph or less speed limits and few lights.

I have a feeling unless Jeep get the new Jeep Truck right (diesel with manual transmission) I'll be looking into special ordering a 2500 with a six speed.

Nice truck.  Thanks for the input on running boards.  My truck only looks like it has none, it actually has the AMP research pop out running boards.

And unfortunately I don't get anywhere near 30 mpg.  Around town I get less than half that.  Out on the highway I can break 15 and might get to 16-17 now that I have a cover on the bed.  On the other hand, I would squash a 1/2 ton when I pick up 4,000 lbs of lead  :P.

I am with you on the center console.  I would rather have had the 60/40 bench, but that wasn't what they were making deals on when I was there.
