Hello again Savage!

Can you possibly take a picture of your chamber and post it? I want to see if it's stepped like my 9mm barrel. Thanks!

It leaves me curious and intrigued.  Like The_Shadow mentioned I'm too curious how well it handles a proper 180gr load at +1300fps and what the brass looks like afterwards.  I'm intrigued by the benefits of the rotating barrel setup in conjunction with being able to shoot single action.  From the earlier pics that SavageOne posted of chamber support, I feel that I wish it was improved around the base of the brass case but barrel chamber wall thickness sure is impressive.  I would want the 5" barrel model.

I went to grandpower.eu and got this info and pics for the 5" barrel model;

P 40L
Caliber: .40 S&W / 10mm AUTO / .357 Sig

Trigger mechanism: SA / DA

Trigger pull weight: 20-25N / 35-40N

Overall length: 228.0mm (8.98")

Height without magazine: 136.0mm (5.35")

Width: 36.0mm (1.42")

Barrel length: 127.0mm (5.0")

Weight w/o magazine: 970g (34.2 ounces)

Weight w empty magazine: 985g (34.75 ounces)

Standard magazine capacity: 14

The P40 offers a unique rotating barrel mechanism to those who prefer shooting with powerful .40S&W / 10mm AUTO / .357 Sig rounds. Built on the latest generation of Mk12 polyamide handle, but it features a new steel dismantling catch which replaced the original trigger guard stop. This innovation results in a stronger handle, enhanced reliability and easier field stripping. The new rounded slide profile provides excellent handling and ergonomics. Longer L model provides even more accurate shooting and increased mass shifts center of gravity towards muzzle to further reduce muzzle lift.

Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

I'ld like to see pics of it from front and rear points of view.

Henning said the P40 has been held up due to no magazines. If I hear any new information I will pass it on. We need more of them in 10mm owner's hands to review.

I emailed Henning last week and got the same reply. Too bad they won't just send me a gun without mags. I've had 2 mags for a few months now!

Well I suppose that explains it. I've been waiting for one.

Curious when they might get some more mags in, I have been perusing Gunbroker for a while now. While I don't intend to buy one, I have only seen one or two for sale since they were released. The incredibly low stock surprises me even for a 10mm, you usually see more than 1-2 total for sale.

Then again, we know the 10mm wasnt high up on grand powers priority list, so who knows if they are even pushing their suppliers to get more mags. They may well just be sitting on this ignoring it.

Recoil Calibration Paks

CZ75 Standard Models, including Full Size Baby Eagle with 4.4" barrel:

Reduced Power - Pak contains 1 each reduced power recoil springs in 9, 10, 11 and 12 pounds. Three extra power firing pin springs are also included for both EAA and other models. (Stock No. 13120)

Extra Power - Pak contains 1 each extra power recoil springs in 16, 18, 20 and 22 pounds. Three extra power firing pin springs are also included for both EAA and other models. (Stock No 13121)

Performance Pak 9mm - Pak contains 1 each 12 Lb. reduced power recoil spring, 16 Lb. extra power recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and 17 Lb. reduced power hammer spring.  (Stock No. 14100)

I purchased the reduced power pack for my 9mm and the competition guys are running an 11lb spring. I went with a 10lb and think it will do just fine for me. If you plan on running some Underwood, Buffalo Bore or even Sig Sauer in it, I would get that extra power pack and start with the 20lb.

Are you saying that I can use CZ75 recoil springs in my Grand Power P40 10mm?

Thanks.

I run that in my 9mm. Just have to cut it.
