...this time a Tanfoglio Witness Polymer Full Size (phwew! and hereafter, the WP10).

Ran into it on CheaperThanDirt!
https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/european-american-armory-witness-semi-automatic-full-10mm-45-polymer-blue-15rd-1-mag-fixed-sights-999061-741566111372.do?from=Search&cx=0
FWIW, its capacity is 14 +1, not 15 + 1.

Ordered it Tuesday nite and my local FFL holder and I received it today, Thursday.  I drove back into Phoenix from Ben Avery Shooting Facility, retrieved the WP, went home, loved the wife and dog, reloaded the bag with more, different ammo, loaded the Grand Cherokee with a half-load of pesky waterjugs, and my WP and I drove to my favorite almost-private shooting place and killed all those little suckers!  The pistol was flawless but for one failure to feed one of my practice loads, but WOW does it toss empties; I found only about a quarter of what I shot.

If I love it as much in a month as I do now, probably I'll buy another.

FINALLY a 10mm pistol that's NOT too big for my medium-sized hands.

Now I'll be developing those 155g. Barnes TAC-XP loads for the WP.  More later.

Congrats!  It will be an interesting project!  Good luck!  :D

Nice gat! I'm looking forward to seeing a range report and seeing what you do with the 155.

TY, I think--what's a 'gat'?

The first range report is that it shoots very comfortably, and only some of that rather aggressive texturing on the front of the grip may have to be filed off or at least down.  Yesterday's single failure-to-chamber is the only failure to operate perfectly including today's 30-or-so handloads.  I read the book last nite and learned how to do initial takedown; greased the rail-slots, reassembled, and--surprise--it still works!

As I wrote earlier, if I'm still in love with it in another month, probably I'll buy another.

I'm guess you are under 30? :)

Got out to Ben Avery Shooting Facility again this aft. and shot the next batches of tests.  Finalists are, all shot with my 4.5"-barrel Witness Polymer FS, chrono at 10'-average distance, temp. about 100dF, and all in new StarLine nickled cases and with Winchester WLPs and Barnes TAC-XP 155g. all-copper bullet seated to OAL of c. 1.27", which is a little too long, and all achieving velocities in the 109nFPS range:
HS-6, 8.0g.
A7, 9.4g., and
Universal, 6.0g.

Understand that my goal is to create a 100%-reliable personal-defense round using the 155g. all-copper Barnes TAC-XP bullet* traveling at about 1100FPS.

Today I remembered to bring my inexpensive plastic pistol rest and managed to shoot a bunch of the best-in-my-life 5-shot groups at 10 yards, one of them a bughole**.

* Generally, the world's best (at expanding reliably whatever they're shot into or thru and also retaining 100% of their weight) personal-defense bullet, IMO of course, and I've got lots of pics to document results.
** = one ragged hole.  These groups are better than I've EVER shot with any of about a dozen Glocks and three S&W M&Ps.

Very nice Jeffrey, yea the OAL seem to work best around 1.2520"  but have see them from 1.2500 - 1.2600" work well.

Nice shooting. Which load was that, or L to R was it HS-6, AA7 and Universal?

Congrats and nice shooting.

How long is the 155gr Barnes bullet ?

PS: Shadow, Knowing you, you have posted data for this bullet or similar (140gr). How about (PM) a link or some load data ?

Powders on hand: Blue Dot, AA9 and Longshot, but I can pick some more if I will get better overall performance.

Barnes Bullet data;
TAC-XP .400 125 GR Length 0.622"  Sectional Density .112 Ballistic Coefficient N/A Part #40003

TAC-XP .400 140 GR Length 0.682"  Sectional Density .125 Ballistic Coefficient .128 Part #40005

TAC-XP .400 155 GR Length 0.732"  Sectional Density .138 Ballistic Coefficient .189 Part #40006

These 100% copper bullets are longer despite their lighter weights than the lead core types...
