Looking to purchase a high cap 10MM. My options are limited, there is the Glock 29 or the Rock Island 52009. I am leaning towards the Rock, any suggestions on preference and why?

Glock 20. You get 15 rounds, and with a Pearce +2 extension you can have 17. There is also a larger extension that is used on the 45ACP G21 that will probably give you an extra 10 rounds, but I can't remember who makes it or if it is still available.

The benefit of the G20 10mm, is that you can by different barrels from Lone Wolf and shoot 9x25, 40S&W, 357SIG, or 9mm. You can also buy a slide and barrel to shoot 45ACP.

Thanks I will definitely consider the options! Will the 20 shoot the more high power 10MM rounds?

The G20 and the Rock will handle comparable power levels.  About the only 10mm currently produced that you may have some concerns with the "nuclear" loads is the Delta Elite.

And by nuclear loads he is talking reloads that are over book for the most part.  The Delta will shoot anything off the shelf. As to your question, I would get the Glock 20 or 29 for your first 10mm.  They just flat work and work good.  As stated above you can get barrels and other accessories very easy and cheap.  Another side benefit of the Glock is they are very easy to sell if you decide you want to get something else down the road.

Underwood has some loads which are claimed to fall in SAAMI spec but carry a warning not to shoot them in a Delta Elite.

I tend to agree with yfdcap personally.  Any book load if you reload will be fine in any 10mm handgun.

The Underwood loads we have pulled and examined exceed the book loads published.

Absolutely thrilled with the comments. I may go with the Rock however as it is rated to shoot even the heavier loads. I have a Sig P220 Stainless Elite, that had problems shooting Sig ammo if you can imagine? I love the versatility of the Glock and my G17 Gen 2 has been as reliable as anything I have ever had. Tough decision but I'm going to ask Glock, because of your recommendations,  before I do anything. Thanks so much! Who knows I may get both, because in this day and age you can never have enough weapons or ammo :)

you say your options are limited but have you looked at the EEA Witness 10 mm 15 shot pistols? they handle full house loads right out of the box.

I actually want to try those in one of my Delta's.  Kind of like when someone says "don't touch that its hot" I have to touch it.  Rarely do I get accused of being smart.

My glock 40 shoots big banger loads and waits for more! Excellent gun for anything you put through it. Accurate and reliable, 15 rounds of full house 10mm....what else can u ask for. Is she a stainless, custom pretty , high dollar Wizz bang 1911?...nope, but she will shoot right along with them if not better.
