After listening to our elected officials tell me how bad guns are... I of course went and bought another 10 mm.
I bought a new STI Perfect 10 off Gun Broker, hope to see it next week.
So who has one? Hard to find many reviews on them so hoping someone on the forum has some good insight on them.

Don't have one but can't wait to hear how you like it and a range report.

I've got one. Dead nuts reliable and accurate. Prepare yourself to install the recoil spring. It's pretty difficult. Only because it's under a lot of tension. You'll get used to it and figure it out. I emailed STI and David Cupp responded to me informing me it has an 18 pound recoil spring and 22 pound hammer spring. Spring replacement is recommended at 3-4 thousand rounds if you are shooting full power loads otherwise every 5-6 thousand rounds.

I added a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight and ordered some spare magazines from Dawson Precision who special ordered them from STI.  There is a difference in the length of the magazine feed lips between 40 S&W and 10mm. Some pistols will run the 40 S&W mags but I bought only 10mm...after accidently buying one also marked for 40 S&W. The mags come in various lengths.

I have a nylon chest holder which fits it and I bought a G-Code tactical style hip holster for mine as well. I installed a heavy mag well to add even more weight to the pistol too.

I debated buying one of the other full size 6 inch 10MM 1911s/2011s on the market but I'm glad I went with the Perfect 10. It's a reliable and accurate workhorse. Hope this helps...I think you're gonna enjoy it.

Managed to run 10 rounds through it before work just to make sure it runs.... no issues and the trigger felt nice.
Was comparing it to my EAA hunter tonight... so far I prefer the way the hunter feels in my hand.
Ordered  Dawson fiber optic front site for my old eyes and a couple of spare magazines tonight.
Cant wait to shoot both of them this weekend and see how they compare. Life is good

Love that gun

Took the Hunter and the perfect 10 out today and ran 100 rounds through each. Here are some random thoughts on the STI...

The large mag well interferes with my grip.. pushes my little finger up. I think it would feel better without it. I prefer the way the hunter feels because of this.

While the STI trigger and the Hunter trigger both break between 4 and 4.5 lbs on my gauge the hunter trigger feels lighter.  The Hunter trigger needs to be polished as its is a little gritty feeling while the STI is smooth. Going back and forth with each gun I found I appreciated the forward positioning on the hunter trigger vs the more rearward 1911 style of the STI. Overall I preferred the Hunter trigger but both are nice.

I forgot to weigh both but I thought the Hunter had less felt recoil.. just my feeling. I was shooting 165 grain target  loads today, I think around 1150 FPS if my memory is correct.

I shot slightly tighter groups with the hunter but both guns where very accurate.. but I have shot many rounds through the hunter so I expected I would probably shoot it better.

The hunter has a fire optic sight included in the gun case and it was the first thing I installed... the STI has a black blade front sight that doesnt work well with my old eyes, although I did paint it hot pink to help me pick it up faster. I have ordered a fibre optic front for the STI.

The barrel on the STI is WAY heavier than the Hunter.. yet both guns felt about the same weight.

Overall I like the perfect 10 and as of right now its my second most favorite 10mm... right behind the Hunter and ahead of my SIG and RIA

Now is it worth more than twice what I paid for the hunter? I dont think so but I have no regrets with my purchase.

Barrels

Here's an example of what it will look like without the magwell. if you decide to go that route. It will require a shorter pin as the pin which goes through the magwell will stick out a bit. The pic is not my pistol but one I pulled off the net.

If you want less bang for a few bucks, buy a $30 bushing compensator on eBay. It makes my Kimber 10mm feel like a 9mm. The hotter the load, the less muzzle rise!

And your STI will look even meaner than it does now.
But the barrel has to be 1911 specs, like an outside diameter of .58 or so to fit the new bushing.

Actually at that price I should give one to everyone on my xmas list that has a 1911.

STI is bull barrel. Will not work with bushing compensator.
