Is there still a chamber support issue on the newer ones?
I don't know why but I keep coming back to the 1911 as a 10mm platform.
I don't know why, horrible experience withe rock island, so so experience with kimber.
I picked up a stainless Delta today and it just felt so good but I just don't know...
Help me out fellas, I don't need to blow a grand on another problem child.

I don't think they addressed the chamber support issue but the recoil spring is said to be a dual spring arrangement, does this add dwell time to lock up?  I can't say!

The chamber issues, along with frame cracking issues, have been way over blown in my opinion.  The only frame cracking I could get anyone to produce is the original non-window frame(usually the same old pic).  The internet is full of people who read something or know someone but very little first hand experience with pictures.  I have two ( older blue and newer stainless ) and have shot everything I can find off the shelf except Underwood.  My go to reloads are 180 grains at about 1275-1300 fps.  I have never had any issues what so ever. Brass expands about like my stock Glock barrels.  I have not smiled any with either.  With reloads it is like any other gun and needs some fine tuning with some loads.  In addition to what was mentioned above the newest version also has a extended safety and a flat mainspring housing.  With all the upgrades (sights, Beavertail, extended safety, grips, flat mainspring housing) it is well worth the 100.00 more price they are asking.  Actually, if you go to Gunbroker, you can get it for the same price as the older model. I will get one as soon as my LGS gets one.  All that being said, If you are going to shoot nuclear loads, above book, I would not get one.  Other than that, they are one of my favorite to shoot.

I am on a fence, this is (should) be my last gun purchase of the summer. I love my new tanfoglio but I currently am Jonesing for another 1911. I was going to get a commander sized 45 but I handled one of the new new deltas.
I am sure it would handle the sigs I am currently flying through. Been 20 years since I have had a colt, maybe it is time... Russ

If you are sticking with off the shelf or book re-loads I think you will enjoy it.  I do add a flat bottom firing pin stop and a 25 lb hammer spring to all my 10mm 1911's.

I also strongly agree with yfdcap that the Delta Elite so called weakness with the chamber issues and frames cracking have been way over blown.
My gosh with all the talk I hear about the Colt one would think that there are many hunderds of these running around with cracked frames  :o
Just glad that I got all my fingers because I shoot mine once a week.
If you need to push a 180gr past 1350fps! get a .41 Mag.
