What's new about this one versus the old ones?

BEEMER!

Trigger, sights, safety, and grip safety.

About time Colt only took 30 years   :D

Looks like the slide serrations are different also.

I missed that, you are correct.

Ramped barrel would be the key and answer to a lot of prayers.

Wolfie

I would have prefered a blue or gold cup model.

If this does not have a ramped barrel, which I doubt there is no reason to upgrade.

sqlbullet

I am gonna say with 98% certainty that no ramped barrel.

This isn't a real update by Colt.  This is a large special order with some features by Lipsey's. I really, really doubt that Lipseys convinced them to alter frames.

drnls

They could at least changed to a barrel with more case support, like Kart.

drnls

Any real way of finding out short of buying one?

01deuce

It is listed on several sites so if it's a Lipsey's exclusive then that's fine, but I haven't seen it advertised as such yet.

I agree it most likely doesn't have a ramped barrel, but the cost to customize one dropped dramatically when you consider you don't have to have the dovetails cut or a beaver tail safety fit like the older model. Having a ramped barrel added is the only thing I couldn't do myself now to have a delta how I want it.

Triathloncoach

I've been wanting one, but even someone with as little knowledge as I am left scratching my head as to why Colt would not fully address the case support concern.

But then again Colt appears to sell as many of these as they make.

sqlbullet

Colt is riding on name recognition.  Their guns are not better made, or even as well made in most cases, as their price competitors.
